How long after you started training were you able to bench press 100kg (220lbs)?
I'm currently benching 80kg (176lbs) as my one rep max. Do you think I would be able to bench 100kg by the end of this year?
Thanks

Depends on your genes, workout plan, and how long you been lifting?
Ive been lifting for 7 months and can bench 100 kg, for 3-4 reps
ive never really tried 1 repping any weight, i just move up a weight when i can bench that weight comfortably 8+ reps.
But if its any help i think i started benching 100kg by my 6th month of training.

I was at 175 lb bench 12 weeks ago, currently on my 12th week of madcow 5x5, benched 215 for 5 reps yesterday. 220 by next monday. So less than 13 weeks if you get on a good program, eat well, and sleep enough. Cuz I don't eat nearly enough, or sleep nearly enough haha.
Edit: If you're older/heavier it'd probs be much faster.1 Rep Max Lifts:6/9/2011
Deadlift: 305
Bench:240
Squat: 255

How much do you weight, OP? I find that benchpress is more so dependent on weight than most other lifts. Very rare to see someone really small to be pumping out high weight on bench press, as opposed to being shocked when seeing some average/slightly above average guy squatting/DL'ing high amounts. Would also be helpful to know when you started lifting, so we know how long it took to get to 176 lb?

ILS is a primal threat/mating display observed in the human male. The ILS display involves the male human holding out it’s arms away from it’s body at approximately a 20-40 degree angle and then walking with a slow deliberate gait inorder to look more imposing to other humans. The posture is used primarily as a form of non-verbal communication such as a mating display to attract or impress females or as a defense or dominance posture to appear larger to a threat or to intimidate rival males.
