How long before you were bench pressing 100kg (220lbs)?

How long after you started training were you able to bench press 100kg (220lbs)?

I'm currently benching 80kg (176lbs) as my one rep max. Do you think I would be able to bench 100kg by the end of this year?

    Thanks

Anything is possible. If you eat right and do SS, you can do it man.
    I started in January, couldn't even put up 135 for a 1rm, now i warmup with 135.

This is without SS, I started with a HST program.

    Goodluck bro!
That token nice big guy @ your local: Rave, Party, Concert.
Enjoying life while I do not have alot of responsibilities.

Back to lifting, dislocated knee is healed.

Depends on your genes, workout plan, and how long you been lifting?

Ive been lifting for 7 months and can bench 100 kg, for 3-4 reps
ive never really tried 1 repping any weight, i just move up a weight when i can bench that weight comfortably 8+ reps.

But if its any help i think i started benching 100kg by my 6th month of training.

Weight? I read your profile and you "suffered" from anorexia, so I'm curious what is now if you can bench 220x8.

Of course, silly billy. That fellow didn't state that SS was the only method but rather suggested it as an example of a good method out of many available.

I dont know my weight. If i had to guess it would be around 170, 180 at 5'7". but i honestly dont know. I dont understand why it would matter if i had anorexia or not though.

Took me about 2 years haha, attempted it so many times and kept failing, was probably more mental than anything else. When I finally got it I did it paused and with calls, and later that week I got 232lbs paused in a push/pull comp.

Been lifting since mid Feb. Been switching between full bodies and splits a lot in that time, can never make up my mind and get serious. Just with that though, I've gone from around 45KG up to 75KG for reps. Feels good!

I was at 175 lb bench 12 weeks ago, currently on my 12th week of madcow 5x5, benched 215 for 5 reps yesterday. 220 by next monday. So less than 13 weeks if you get on a good program, eat well, and sleep enough. Cuz I don't eat nearly enough, or sleep nearly enough haha.

Edit: If you're older/heavier it'd probs be much faster.

I think u are well on ur way to be lifting 220lbs by the end of the yr. I wish i would have started at ur age. i think a spotter would help out great because u can lift heavier than normal. Keep up the awesome work bro

How much do you weight, OP? I find that benchpress is more so dependent on weight than most other lifts. Very rare to see someone really small to be pumping out high weight on bench press, as opposed to being shocked when seeing some average/slightly above average guy squatting/DL'ing high amounts. Would also be helpful to know when you started lifting, so we know how long it took to get to 176 lb?

give it ~3 months if you're training for mass, not just strength
if you're training for just strength then probably 1.5-2months
    Compete in Powerlifting, not bodybuilding.

    Thanks
You are adding about 45 lbs to your bench. I apologize for using pounds and not the metric system. Anyway, this past month I added like 25 pounds to my 1RM in just six bench workouts. I am positive if you do everything right you could hit it in 2-4 months, if not sooner.

This is funny. Did you also weigh 100kg and go through puberty at 8?

ILS is a primal threat/mating display observed in the human male. The ILS display involves the male human holding out it’s arms away from it’s body at approximately a 20-40 degree angle and then walking with a slow deliberate gait inorder to look more imposing to other humans. The posture is used primarily as a form of non-verbal communication such as a mating display to attract or impress females or as a defense or dominance posture to appear larger to a threat or to intimidate rival males.
