    Question about ketosis?

Although my daily carbs have been below 30grams all week tbe stix still show no ketosis. My question is if one continues to follow the keto diet but doesnt reach ketosis will i still lose fat or will the high fat content have the opposite effect? thanx

A calorie deficit determines fat loss, not how much fat you eat.

i thought a caloric deficit accounts for how much weight is lost, not fat hence why keto is really good for bodyfat reduction compared to 40/30/30.

There is nothing magical about keto, it's just another way of dieting. All personal preference

no... not really. even in keto you can still drop muscle mass if your caloric deficit is too high.

How are you mesuring? Ketostix? If your body is fully adapted to ketose, you won't have too much ketones in your urine, but you will lose fat.

To actually answer your question and address your concerns... if ketostix is not showing ketosis this does not absolutely mean you're not in ketosis, the important part is to stick to the ratio and eat at deficit. This being said... how many days? It can take someone as many as 10 days to be completely in ketosis and fat adapted.

Also, there will be no opposite effect and if you're getting adequate protein.

The only reason why people say keto works better for a cut diet is because fat fills your up much quicker then carbs do.
Yes there is arguement for overall health etc but who cares about that right? lol

You are right, fat and protein controls hunger better than carbs

    ^this.

also, if you are only eating 30g carbs a day (120kcal) you really think your body is never going to turn to fats for fuel?
