    Leg workouts for people with bad backs

    Can anyone tell me a great workout for the legs if you have a bad back? I have really bad genetics in my back (it runs in the family).

    A "genetically bad" anything can be overturned. Are you saying that you have an injured/weak lower back?
    500/385/585, 265 overhead press, 250 weighted dip, 190 weighted pull-up, 413.8 max weighted pull-up, 385 front squat, 365 RFESS, 30 pull-ups at 225, 50 flips of a 500-550lb tire. Men's club level rugby player. 225. 22 years old.

    My back hurts for long periods of time spent sitting, too. I hate that ****, but that's about having your body in that fixed position for that amount of time. No wonder why so many Americans feel lower back pain from sitting in cars/in front of computers 'til all hours.

    Form is crucial for anyone on exercises like squats and deadlifts let alone someone with lower back pain. Have a look at the videos that are stickied in i think the Exercises forum thread.
