Careful with going paleo, your energy will be zapped for a week or two til you're used to it. At least that's what happened to me.

your legs have those nice long and lean looking muscles. really lovely.
i started supersets bc of you. just so you know. i always admire your workouts. how do you like the skull/press superset?
i lost my first 50 pounds on paleo. i didnt get lethargic at first, but towards the end i would get these weird sluggish/low energy/hard to think or walk periods bc i got really bad about eating any carbs at all. i fall apart if i eat less than 40 grams carb a day. i decided after a while that i just didn't want to eat that way forever, but i think it's really useful for some people.

I did not have this... I incorporated a lot of fruit 3 servings a day around workouts the first two weeks. After that only one serving a day post workout. And none the last two weeks. I didn't have any energy issues and didn't take a preworkout during this period either. To each their own, maybe worth a shot to see what works for you.

strong this.
i knew i was lactose intolerant (can have yogurt and cheese without issue, but milk? one 8 oz glass and i am suffering from gas/bloat in a bad way), but i had no idea i was sensitive to wheat until i went paleo. it changed my life. sometimes i eat wheat (a slice of birthday cake or whatever, or breading on chicken at times) but i won't ever go back. my GERD is gone. the GERD was so bad that i used to take max dose of prilosec, eat tums like candy, sleep sitting up in bed and still wake up aspirating on my stomach contents. it doesnt happen anymore, unless i get stupid with wheat.
so yeah. changed my life.

Oh my god, really? That's me I take a 150mg zantac every morning, and one at night. I sleep upright, and still wake up with acid in the back of my throat and then I take another zantac and wake up in the mornings needing another...Plus tums all day. SIGH! My beer and yogurt.....Oh no.

if you want to try it, you dont have to go paleo all the way if that doesnt appeal to you, but eliminate wheat from your diet for six weeks (even soy sauce. that means no more eating at most restaurants etc) and see if it helps. i wish you the best. gerd is terrible.

That's what confuses me- my diet is very bland to being with! Always oats/eggs/peanut butter in the mornings, protein bar mid-morning, salad and tuna sammich with cheese for lunch, cottage cheese/protein powder/granola for snack, veggies and protein (lately tofu but there's no difference between soy, eggs, or chicken in terms of how I feel afterwards) for supper, protein/milk/granola/peanut butter before bed. Going low carb during UD2 made it worse. I don't know what to eliminate, the sammich actually makes my tummy feel better than if I just eat a meat salad....So I'm not sure if it's worth it or not, but I guess I could always try it and see....but it seems like it's always bad no matter how I eat.
Sorry for the hijack P!!

well there are lots of reasons for gerd. the most common being a a malfunctioning pyloric valve along with the LES. i know i have valve malfunction, but eliminating wheat changed it from gerd to infrequent heartburn (and really i only get heartburn when i drink coffee/wine/other alcohol).
there are gluten free items you can buy. i have gluten free bread for when i'm hankering for a sandwich. they aren't as good as real bread, but they suffice. the Udi's brand is the best of the sandwich breads.
whatever is causing it, i hope it gets better. bad gerd like what we have can damage the esophageal lining and causes barrett's esophagus, which is a precursor to eso cancer. checking things out with a doc, telling him how bad it is, will probably lead him to want to investigate and possibly a script for UDCA which will help the symptoms and prevent barrett's, but does not cure the issue.

Okay, sorry P trying to catch up! Damn fine pull there! Screw the scale but I do hope you get your 134 back. Good luck with the a/c install. Tell them to pull a good vacuum. Seriously. It will make your system run for longer. They are really all just boxes as long as they are installed right.
Good luck with your busy week. I keep wondering if it is better or worse once school is out!

Holy freaking hell! I have been told for years I have this gerd thing, but I never have these heartburn symptoms you guys talk about EVER. Used to take something for it for like 3yrs because they said it would fix it, well all that did was make my stomach sick so I eventually stopped taking it. Doc knows and was like yeah whatever if it's not bothering you then don't worry about it. Interesting... and have never been a drinker of coffee or alcohol or anything with sugar so W... T... F?! Also supposedly my back teeth are erroding due to acid or something, even though I don't feel anything or have a weird taste from the acid reflux if that is what that is.
Ooo I just hijacked the hijack that was hijacking P's journal, sorry.
Pffft not really sorry, feel my glaze beatches!
