    one night of drinking?

    im almost at my goal of 10% body fat but am going to a party tonight
    will i be able to drink without putting on weight
    if so should i drink vodka and rum as they have no carbs

    If you go over your maintenance level then yes you will put on a little weight but not much from 1 day drinking. Also what have carbs got to do with anything? It's calories that matter and alcohol contains calories.

    Go and enjoy yourself, its 1 party, it will have minimal effect on your diet.

    I have been counting my calories and trying to get my body fat below 10 percent also. I drink beers or mixed drinks one night a week and still improve from week to week. I just throw in as n extra day of cardio. Good luck

    Alcohol will cause you to retain water weight for a few days after...so enjoy yourself tonight, but dont' weigh in until at least Tuesday or Wednesday and you'll not notice a thing!

    Maybe it's in how it metabolizes then because every time I drink on the weekends I go up a couple pounds and it doesn't come off until 3 days later at which time I see the lb I cut from that week in all it's glory

    Yeah... the day after your lighter due to the diuretic effects of alcohol. In response to being dehydrated your body holds on the anything you drink for a few days.

    Drink diet soda/carb free juice and mix it with vodka or rum.

    Each shot is about 60 calories. So if you plan on taking like 5 shots(Mix them with diet soda or a low carb/carb free juice you will enjoy the drink more) that will be around 300 calories, so eat 300 calories less that day and drink at night. Nothing wrong with that. Also one night of an extra 300 won't do anything really...so don't worry unless your forced to mix with regular soda and juice. If you stay away from the carbs you will wake up unbloated, dehydrated, weight will be down, and you will look leaner than you have been(not the best things though). Next day make sure you drink tons of fluids.

    People who put on weight or hold the water it is because they drank a lot of alcohol with mix drinks that carry ton of carbs or beer that has a ton of carbs and yeast.... Plus they put way more calories in their night. Over 600+ by a couple beers and mix drinks.

    So stay away from beer and carbs like soda and juice. Enjoy!

    I hold a ton of water weight a couple days after drinking. It has been as much as 7lb.s over my normal weight.

    I'm about 8 weeks into cutting and have drank on 4 of the weekends and am still showing great progress.

    some advice from my experience a week or two ago:

    I had never tried a vodka tonic before, so I figured since it was water, vodka, and a lime, it would be a smarter choice than other drinks. Wrong. The tonic water is actually WORSE in calories than having something like a jack and diet coke! Have a few d. jack and cokes (jackncoke is a favorite for us guys), or, have a few shots of vodka and drink some water between shots, and then once you have a good buzz just have like one or two good quality beers at the end.
