Went to the doctor about my shoulder injury. He took a little look at it, typed up some stuff on his computer and prescribed me some pain pills, and told me to rest. I bertstared the fuk out of him and binned the prescription note right infront of his eyes.
Went to chiropractor and he took a look at my injury for 45 minutes and fixed the problem. Made me feel relaxed, felt professional and I felt happy handing money over to him for sorting out my problem.
Doctors and med students lol you are a fukking joke. Until you get the huge dicks of the pharmacutial companies out your asses then I will begin to show you some respect.
Brb I respect surgeons because they are vital but doctors? Lol shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit son

Medical doctors wont do much for sports injuries other than prescribe meds or surgery....and what else would you expect them to do? These kind of injuries are hard to heal from the start....theres no magic remedy to it. The best bet is physiotherapy

kind of agree
I had a shoulder injury (non lifting related) that I went to the chrio first but insurance wouldn't cover it so I had to go see a doctor. I could tell my movement was ****ed up even if it didn't "hurt" even today when I do curls or something I can see it rotate weird luckily it doesn't seem to be causing any issues it just healed wrong. All the doc did was have me raise my arm a little and was like did that hurt and I was like I could feel some tension and he was like you're fine cya lol.
To be honest I think the ****er just thought I was trying to scam workers compensation and wouldn't believe anything other.*PUREBLOOD CREW*

this is why i google everything, assess my own symptoms and go by what is described on the internet before i go near the doctors.
i had this really bad pain in my foot, right next to the ball of my foot near my big toe. i was sitting around all day at work and then walking out the car up my driveway i was almost hopping because of the pain. googled it and there was millions of atricles explaining skurvey or some ****. most people explained they had the same symptoms... left it, and in a few days it went away.. so instead of going doctors i left it... wattya know? the pain faded and my foot was fine
but if i went to the doctors i wud have been given some sorta pills for this and that. they will give you anything and everything in pill form... no matter what is wrong with you
im a great believer that the body will heal itself in time (obviously if you have a disease like aids it wont.. im talking the usual everyday ****)Oo-Official Rep Back Crew-oO chicken + dbol = gains

Those that respect chiropractors more then doctors are unintelligent sheep that have fallen to the scam that is a chiropractor. If you go into a doctor and they prescribe you something, THAT IS THEIR ****ING JOB. DOCTORS FIND THE PROBLEM, AND TRY TO FIX IT. CHIROPRACTORS TEMPORARILY MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER, NOT PERMANENTLY, AND ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY.
I really hope this is a troll thread, or else the misc is disappointing me.
TO 2 POSTERS ABOVE ME, THEY WILL ONLY GIVE YOU ANTIBIOTICS IF THEY SEE OR ASSUME A BACTERIA YOU ****ING MORON. WHAT THE **** ELSE SHOULD THEY DO TO GET RID OF YOUR ****ING INFECTION? YOU WANT THEM TO ****ING RUB YOUR 1 MONTH OLD STAPH INFECTION AND HOPE IT FEELS BETTER? GET MRSA AND SEE IF YOUR ****ING CHIROPRACTOR CAN HELP YOU.

I think that is the best advice oftentimes. Serious. I'd much rather wait it out for a bit before taking random medication or further aggravating the injury. I hurt the area connecting my left shoulder to my pec, and I didn't do any related exercises for 2 weeks. I'm feeling fine now, when before it hurt like hell to raise my arm over my head.Weighted Dip Lover (125 lbs strapped 4X)

Strong this
You mad that it's not the doctors fault that they don't have a lotta time with to spend with patients, it's the insurance companies that control how much time is spent with a patient. You mad you probably went to a family practice doctor when you probably should've went to a physician that specializes in sports medecine in the first place? You mad that chiropractors are bascially rejects that couldn't make it through med school? Don't bash the occupation until you understand it in full brahLast edited by LBJackson4; 06-03-2011 at 07:55 AM.

a primary care or internal medicine dude prob isn't going to know THAT much about sports related injuries.....
in med school you take like a year of gross anatomy (at most) during your first year usually b/w 6-8 months
then on rotations if you are not doing surgery you are going to be spamming ******** rather than paying attention to most surgeries
thus you MD you went to is prob excellent at diagnosing illnesses but not that great at sport injury management...
you have to to go someone who SPECIALIZES in that area (ortho, etc)
there is too much information to know EVERYTHING thats why House MD is a fictional character on TV
not every MD is a joke, some are a$$clowns but there are alot of great ones....if dude was willing to throw pain meds at your you prob should take that as a compliment b/c it prob meant he didn't think you were a drug seeker, but he should have also referred you to someone who studies that area of anatomy in more detail and has exp managing it

Actually, no. There are office visits and they are coded with certain criteria, and part of that is time. It starts at a 99211 and goes to a 99215. 99215 pays the most but docs hardly bill that. The only spend enough time w/ patients to use a 99213 80% of the time. If the doc wanted to, he can spend any amount of time he wants w/ a patient and if enough time is spent bill a 99215. BUT, you'll see like 10 patients a day instead of 25 while billing 99213. So in the long run, the more you see, the quicker you get them out, the more you're paid. Insurance companies have no say in this matter.

Lol'd hard at an anti-alternative medicine tard calling anybody else unintelligent sheep. A doctor doesn't do **** to find the problem and fix it, they give you medicine to temporarily ease the symptoms.
How the **** can you even begin to say a chiropractor only gives temporary relief? They actually go ahead and adjust **** to get it back to where it should be PERMANENTLY. This fixes a lot more than bone and muscle pains.
Neither of them mentioned a chiropractor being able to treat a bacterial infection you dumb ****. What they did refer to is the fact that 99% of MDs will prescribe you antibiotics regardless of what the **** is wrong with you. Come in with a cough? Let's get you some penicillin. Come in with difficulty breathing? Let's get you some penicillin. Come in with a virus? LOLZ let's give you some penicillin just because I feel like it.
If a chiropractor had gone into schooling to make money, they'd have gone to med school.
