Got offered a job from a family friend in the oil field making 75k a year. Thing is, it is 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off. 12 hours a day. 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Anyone ever done this? May consider to do it for about 2 years and save up a **** load.

The only valuable input I have is that I hear working on an oil rig can be very risky. Lots of work related hazards. Other than that it sounds like a good plan though

There was a guy here offering peple assistance in getting jobs doing the same thing in alaska and they paid nearly 200k. So get experience then look at other places for that money!!
Its tough work, its long hours, and away from family.. Which doesnt matter.
Come up with a financial plan so when you get done with it you will have serious bank and you can pocket this and possibly buy a new car/house in cash in 2-3 years.

so its a fixed salary ? and you only work half of the year?
unless youre rich as fuark and your parents are willing to let you mooch for a while this seems like an easy call. Dont let your cold feet get in the way of something that could get your life moving in the right direction in a big way. Will you still rep me when I'm no longer age:20 and aesthetic?

I have a cousin in the business. Its extremely hard work, and in the Texas heat it can be deadly. The job alone is dangerous enough but you will be trained for whatever you will be eventually be doing.
Hard work but you are well taken care of, it just comes down to being able to handle the work and apparently staying clean. My cousin says so many of them fail the drug test. Dunno why.I have a small dick, is that ok

do it and keep with it for as long as possible.
work your way up to being a tool pusher... friends dad is a tool pusher, hes been doin work for ~20 years or so (hes about 45) and he makes $110,000/year
he works month on month off, on-shore drilling.
think of it this way, you pretty much work 6 months a year in total and you get paid for a full year.
