People on here are delusional, $200k/year = ballin

You think people driving exotic cars and living in mansions are making millions?

    $200k/year = 16,500/month

    a $1M mortgage = $6,409.88/month
    porsche 911 turbo = $2,500/month

    = $7,600 left

brb spending >50% of my income on my house and car payments alone.

Take out taxes, insurance, etc. and you have no money left for savings, family, clothes, etc.

I make 30k/ year and have a 70k car, 600k house. Taxes/utilities kill me though.

Just pay off your credit card with another account then keep paying off that account.

    Its essentially a cheat code

If I had 200K, that is the last thing I would do. It annoys me how when people get money, they lease something and barely have any savings and then complain about debt.

Things young guys forget about making and spending money:
33% tax rate, 401k/retirement savings, life/health/disability/house/car insurance, student loan repayments, kids and saving for their education, cable/phone/utilities, real estate taxes (taxes on a million dollar place will run close to 15 grand in many areas annually), emergency savings for "**** happens" insurance, annual vacation money (you will want to go on trips), entertainment dough (eating out, movies, blowing money at stores adds up). 200k is doing well but it is not anywhere close to jet setter money (either is 400k for that matter).

I never understood paying cash on a house/car.

BMW allows you to do MSD's essentially giving you a guaranteed 10% a year on your money. Its free money...you have to know loop holes etc.

I never liked a big house, but a million dollar car is something I would like.

lulz this. Why the hell would you need a $1M house or a turbo Porsche. If you can't pay it cash, then don't get **** that expensive. If I made that much money, I'd probably live the same way I do now, and use my money to invest properly.

Never said there's anything wrong with it. I just don't go for the whole house/car payment thing. Then again I don't want a wife/kids. My outlook on life is a bit different from everyone else' I suppose.

This is how I'm looking at it, finish up residency by 31, work for 15 years, saving up about 2 million, and then go retire to one of them countries that give you CDs at 9%.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Thanks man. If only de-motivated people could realize that its not impossible, people would be happier.
