    Question Quad Tear, Self Massage??

So I tore a muscle in my quads, oh must be 7/8 years ago now, got very little physio done, they told me to do it myself, of course being young and lazy I did nothing. Now I have a bulge where it has healed over.

I know I have to do deep tissue massage to smooth out the scar tissue but I'm not sure exactly how to go about it. Do i go with the muscle fibres or against?? Do I use my hands or elbow??

Oh and I would like to do it myself rather than get physio. Money is a limiting factor these days...

    Thanks

Against the fibers. That's what will help to seprate the scar tissue. Also, put some heat on it first, and ice it after. Really get deep in there. I don;t think elbow or hands would make a difference. Elbows would probably be easier as far as effort goes.
