had my colnago pista stolen yesterday after i was with it on a restaurant patio and turned my head for literally 10 seconds to order, ran after the guy for about 10 blocks while dodging downtown traffic, after a few blocks my shoes flew off and i ran barefoot (biggest blister on the bottom of my foot).he almost crashed it a few times on turns cause its a brakeless track bike and he didnt have his feet clipped in. he ended up running into a building where i lost him. then 5 minutes after filing police report he decided to ride it over either to his house or to sell it. he ended up getting his jeans stuck in the chain and the back wheel slipped and it became unrideable. he then threw it over a fence of a store. the store owners called the police and i got my bike back.
this all happened in 15-20mins. please stay safe bike brahs

Overall, a pretty damn good ride today. ALMOST hit 5k elevation, but I just focused on riding and having fun. Beach was definitely awesome.
Moved my saddle up drastically, so that it's actually making contact with my sitbones... seemed to fix my problem. At least for today..
Ride pic of the day..

Happy riding everyone!

it was literally 5 feet away from me within eye sight and he somehow timed it perfectly so i turned my head. when i ran out of the restaurant i was within 5 or so feet of catching him but just couldnt get close enough to lunge at him and all the lights just stayed green for him. now that i got it back without problems im somewhat happy i didnt catch him, i would have gone black out spazz on him and you never know what can happen in those circumstances (i can assure you that it would be A LOT worse than the video that you posted tho)

I wouldn't. You're too big and heavy for any bike that would likely come out of Sports Authority. Besides, once you bought the bike you're pretty much on your own.
Rather, find a good bike shop in your town and tell them what you told us. If they're worth anything, they'll put you on the right road and set you up right. Plus, if you're lucky, you may get in a sale an make your budget go a lot further than you thought.🎥

my first IM was more like "I just want to do it" type of training; u know just S/B/R but I wasn't that concern about results or timing.
buy the "Ironfit" book and that can give u a rough estimate of much u need to do to finish an ironman.
I would say a good 10-15hrs per week for my first one.Last edited by camaleom; 07-23-2013 at 06:03 AM.

there is an article out there that says that u need to hit critical mileage volume on the swim/bike before u can execute your best marathon (or run the whole thing). For the first one I was worried about the marathon so I focus on running but for this one I was more concern with S/B volume than the run itself!
let see how this one goes."Paper money is going away" - EM

Pretty much happy to be done. but the best thing to do is keep on your feet and keep walking around for a while to get the lactic acid out of your legs.
I have had the same issue both times after finishing of my body going into shock. The first time it hit when I hit the air conditioning in the hotel afterwards and shivered like a possessed person of r45 minutes or so. In a hot shower, under tons of covers bundled up, it was crazy and somewhat scary. The second time I was prepared for it and got myself covered up and warmed up right before it hit, that time I only shivered for 5 min or so, then went back down to have beers and shoot the chit with other racers.IM Tri Crew - Misc Photog Crew - ♞ Misc Dominant Crew ♞ - Bicycle Brah Crew - Misc Running Crew - Alpine Ski Crew

Consider riding eggbeaters/atacs for commuter duty, a tiny rape-torture saddle and a bigger gear. I pity the fool who'd steal my fixie right now, has crank bros pedals and a 52x15 on it (too lazy to swap chainring and cog).
I'd guess about 19lbs, but I've never bothered weighing it, and I have zero weight-weenie parts on it.

Your pictures depress me about the area I live in. Anyway, I got a 22.75 mile ride in yesterday in 1:35. It was only 77 degrees. Felt bad man.

First outside ride since my visit to the doc about my knee Friday. Felt good on a 33 mile HUMID ride. Everybody pulled their weight at the pace making so it was pretty nice. No crashes so that is a bonus.

Not true. If you are doing a century or a stage with lots of hills weight>aero
If you are working with a team like a paceline weight>aero
solo time trial I agree.
Srs question bro. I'm doing my first 20k time trial in 3 weeks and do you have any tips?
It's an intro type TT and there are no prizes so hopefully it's more relaxed but we are released every 30 seconds and they have different categories like beginner, aero and non aero.
Should be fun. I'm thinking of treating it like a 5k running race. Plan on 20 minutes and start off consistent then every 5 minutes up the effort until I'm going all out the last 5 minutes.
What is the etiquette passing someone, IF I pass someone?Coffee Crew: Bold Black Crew
