    Layne Norton's PHAT routine...

    What are your guys' personal opinions on Layne Norton's PHAT routine? It consists of 2 power days one for upper body and lower, and 3 hypertrophy days which obviously are higher reps. Just curious on your thoughts about this routine and if any of you are on it?

    ya i plan on starting this today, i was watching the videos on simply shredded about it and he was saying the first 4 weeks is real tough and people think its overtraining but when u get past that stage u'll see good gains...we'll see.

    imo the 5 day is too much for me but try it.I tried it for 12 weeks.Gains were good.Im on a 4 day custom PHAT programme keeping sets per muscle group between 8-12 and im seeing way better progress.Try it out OP. Its a fun programme.You will get stronger and bigger and its really fun. Any more info on it just ask in the thread and i'll be sure to respond

    Bench from 145x3 to 155x5
    Deads from 225x3 to 275x6
    Vertical from 27 to 29
    Every other lift has gone up and my abs are actually more cut then when I started. You'll be sore but I dont really believe in overtraining as long as you deload every so often.

    Been on this about 3 months now, the only thing ive found really helpfull doing is if im sore from a previous workout, take an extra rest day here and there, also every month or so ive taken 3-4 days off just as a mini deload, working well for me though never had gains this good

    But it is a good program, Layne knows his sh*t
    getting my protein through a venflon 24/7 so i don't go catabolic crew

    What days are you squatting and deadlifting? I'm going to try this and wanted to squat and deadlift but the program says to switch it out I think every 3 weeks
