I just started training again 4 weeks ago after a few years of no training at all. I am currently taking about 100 grams of protein powder per day, along with usually a lunch and dinner with regular food protein. I am too low on my daily protein powder? Thanks!

There's only one way to lose weight wisely and permanently, and it's no secret. It's simple, but it's not easy: exercise and eat right, consistently.

I'm over 30, and I take in about 40 or 60 grams of protein in powder form per day, depending on my other whole foods, as a supplement. My diet is generally high fat, high protein, low or very low carbs. That's just what works for me.
I recently bought a 5 pound bucket of Dymatize Elite Gourmet in milk chocolate for cheap at my local Better Health store. In fact, just this morning, I experimented shaking it with about 6 ounces of cooled coffee, a couple of ice cubes and about two tablespoons of heavy cream. It's a real treat for me.

Remember protein powder is a supplement
What you need to look at is getting 1 to 1.5 grams per pound of bodyweight (here we go again)
Track your protein intake during the day from reg. food
It seems that you are not taking much in with what you listed.
What do you currently weigh and what do yo want to weigh?
lets say you are getting 50 grams each with lunch and dinner and you are getting 100 grams in with the powders daily and you want to be at 200 lbs you are at your bare min. (my HAO)
add a protein for breakfast (with carbs and fats) and as a fourth meal on top of what you are doing and I think you will be there

What is your daily requirement of protein in grams? How much of that total are you currently getting from regular meals? Can't answer your question without more information.

As an aside, I just hope you're buying all that powder from BB.com; you'll be helping to keep the lights on here for the rest of us.Last edited by ironwill2008; 05-29-2011 at 12:57 PM.
No brain, no gain.

I'll do 25g WPI first thing when I wake up, and 25g WPI before and after workout. On non-workout days I'll have 25g when I get home from work. So for me it's 75g on workout days, 50g on non-workout/cardio days. Always mixed with 1% milk.
Looking to reach my full pump-tential!
