Lactobacillus reuteri occurs naturally in humans, last I read in like 90% of humans...if you were breastfed as a child no need to supplement.

Fiber, probiotics, and water seem effective enough.

In your diet, opt for 100% whole grain when you can, (if you don't already), to get more fiber from your carbs. There are also chewable fiber tablets, powders and a few other products that help you fit more fiber in your diet.

The water is just a must. It's water. There's not much it doesn't help with, so more is better when it comes to digestive health as well

Probiotics....I'm sure you've seen the Activia commercials. Certain yogurts have added fiber and such, which is better for you. Try a few to find what you like best, have a cup a day, every other day, whatever you think you need. Jamie Lee Curtis seems to have had great results

Personally, Thomas Light Multigrain English Muffins are a way to get fiber in to keep me full and regular every morning. (Not 100% whole grain, but a great bit of fiber I think), and have a bowl of the Fiber One ceral every once in a while. These two are the highest fiber foods in my house on a regular basis.

2x...a diet full of whole food and copious hydration coupled with the proper exercise regime will be more than enough to keep your GI tract in great shape...people who preach about herbs and what not are looking for shortcuts that will ultimately do nothing other than burn your wallet.

OK, some of this was good some just taking shots in the dark. First what is wrong? Pain? Discomfort? I myself developed diverticulosis at age 36 from taking too much protein and not enough fiber. Diverticulosis can hurt like hell. After a CT scan I was diagnosed. Today, I eat two things every day. When I wake up in the morning I have a bowl of oatmeal and the last thing I eat before I go to bed with a big glass of water is a a serving of plain Greek Protein mixed with a scoop of casein protein. Since then I have been okay. No pain thank the lord.
Try some fiber and greek yogurt, try this for 3 weeks and if the pain persist go see a gastrointerologist. Just my two cents.
Also lay off all supplements and let your system get back to whole natural foods.
