OK so fatty reporting in. Lifting and doing cardio on a small deficit to lose weight. Aside from my 3 normal meals, I'm taking in 2 protein shakes a day of Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey. I take one of them as a PWO, and the other as basically just a meal replacement.
However someone told me that this kind of protein is only good for PWO because it is absorbed quickly and I should replace my non-pwo shake with something that is absorbed more slowly like Casein. True/False?
Thanks

Protein is protein, meal/ nutrient timing does not matter - no set amount of shakes per day. Ideally, I ingest zero. I use it to supplement my protein intake. For me, calories are lowered on a cut, and ratio of protein:carbs:fat is higher on the protein. Shakes are great because they are low in fat and carbs, and help me to supplement my protein macronutrient intake.
Just don't eat carbs before bed! Not srs.
Deficit+macro hitting = fat loss, not amount of shakes or meal timing.

casein helps to keep you feeling full. so if you're always hungry, a protein higher in casein may be what you're looking for.
