From Blackberries to garden in one afternoon?

My wife thinks I'm nuts for making a garden in this area...I really fail to see her skepticism?



After 30 minutes of wielding a Machete. Chopping the vines into bits I tilled the soil for about 30 mintues. (one hour and I have a plot)



Two raised rows planted (sowed) next to the fence. I will whack attack encroachment and secure a perimeter!



Moral of the story: Never lower ones goals because of nay sayers...

Thanks Zod, I will update when the seeds germinate. Then baby sit the patch from slugs and bugs...Any one like boiled peanuts?

I'll give her some time to lick her wounds...she should know me better than that after 11 years of marriage.

Well my two rows of peanuts are done. I love boiled fresh peanuts and have purchased the off the net for about $25 bucks for 10 pounds...They are gone in 3 days

The rest is up for plot is up for grabs... Tomatoes, Snow peas, green beans, Zuccini, radish. I would love some watermelon plants but may have to start from seeds.

I process tomatoes at the end of the year for a thick Marinara base. I cook down gallons into quarts of thick sauce. After the first frost everything is picked and processed.

You still might be fighting off blackberries for a while, but nice effort and I hope the crops come in hot and heavy!
