    SKull crushers causing elbow pain

Is it normal that skull crushers would cause elbow pain? Any other triceps exercise doesn't. Is this indicative of bad form or is it normal?

they do if the weight is too heavy, or you're moving you elbows while doing it. Do it with light weight first, where you elbows are in and not moving at all.

I never had elbow pain doing them. Are you using a straight BB?

I get elbow pain as well with skull crushers. It's a shame because it's my favorite excercise. I take some weight off the bar (I use an EZ curl bar) and go for moderate reps. I save the big weight for close grips instead.

    heavy weight?

how often do you train triceps?

are you locking out your elbow at the end of the motion?

are you doing any other single joint movments during that work out?

I do get pain from straight bar skull crushers. I either do DB skull crushers performed with a hammer grip or use an ez-curl bar. Also, try doing them inclined. If the pain still persists, maybe try a different movement for a while, something like close-grip presses, floor pressing, or high board pressing.

Iím guilty of that sh*t too, waiting for somebody to powder my nuts cuz I did 20 reps of whatever the **** on the bench. Big f*king deal. It is all relative." G Diesel
