my dad recently got on a diet and lost a bunch of weight and now is looking to gain more muscle, he had a back injury so working out used to be a problem but not now. Hes 50
He was wondering what supplements should go along with his workout plan? (Not weight loss supps, muscle gain)
Any insight?

if he is having a hard time working out due to pain, try more rest days, and look into orange triad and cissus
ice after training*
fish oils*
massage thearpy*
Foam roalling / tennis ball tissue work .

Does he have the unwarranted need to ingest powder?
Protein comes in many forms - just because one can get it in a big tub with "growth" written on the side does not make it any better than that from whole foods.
Maybe he should figure out what he wants. "Growth" is best found in illegals/hormonal modifiers - any other has arguably little to no effect.

Do some research on Vitamin D:

Serious. There are people saying they've gotten more help from this than test boosters.
