how do i custom title
Best smartphone out (or soon to be released)?
Girlfriend and I have AT&T and our upgrades are coming up in a month. We currently have 3GS iPhones and are on the fence on getting another iPhone. Is 4's power worth it? I really am looking at the dual cores and perhaps switching us to Droids.
What is the best (I'm for power, she's for aesthetics in both phone and interface) out there or one that's slated to be released in the coming months?
So many options. Was thinking an atrix 4g but those might be overkill and I don't need the laptop part.
Thanks brahs.

Came in to post this. HTC EVO 3D is a beast. Apple will have to fight hard to top it.

Wow, I think you discovered the next reasonably thin smartphone (besides the iPhone 4) for me, Samsung Galaxy S2. Damn, unbelievable how thin it is and powered with NVIDIA Tegra 2.
Think any other phone is similar to the S2 in regard to the thinness?

From every review I've read, the Galaxy S II seems like the best thing in the pipeline but it will probably be a while before we get our versions here in the US. This carrier modification crap is getting old.
The Evo 3d seems neat but nobody has really handled them yet plus they are just as heavy as the original (which I have) and have those stupid 3d cameras.

Mine did too.
There's a fix though and it's pretty easy if you're comfortable using Clockwork Recovery Mod, backing up and flashing ROMS.
Download an app from the Market (free) called MLS reader. Run it, it gives you a number, write it down.
Flash back to your original, or any other Sense ROM.
Dial #GPSCLRX and then enter in that MLS number you wrote down.
Phone will reboot.
Flash back to CM7 (you can either do a fresh install, or restore from a backup).
GPS is fixed.
Here is a more detailed instruction set if you're interested.

FYI: I pulled that MLS number while I was at work, and obviously it is geographically specific. From time to time, I still have GPS issues when I'm in that area where I work...I'm not sure if that's just an anomaly or what but if I was going to do it again, I would pull that MLS number while I was in an area I wasn't in normally (if that makes any sense).

I don't think the 4 is any faster that the 3GS.
-
I like turtles.
If your looking to stay within the AT&T realms, the Atrix 4G hands down.
While the Galaxy S II may be faster, you'd have to buy it full price, and unlock it.
With the addition of "LTE" AT&T should be come less ****ty.
I for one, am switching from AT&T to verizon, and getting the "Droid Bionic" when it comes out.
The Droid X2 just came out yesterday, Tegra 2, 512 ram, but no 4G, or front camera, which the Atrix has, and 512 more ram.
To be honest, if your like me, you have no need for anything faster than like, the first G1...but want the fastest you can get.
My friend got the Atrix for $50 when he renewed at AT&T.

I think it depends on the person wether iPhone or droid is better. I love my iPhone 4 but hated the Motorola Droid I had before I got this. It was very glitchy and kept deleting my contacts and messages.
If you chose to go iPhone I'd wait until September though because the 5 should be out around then according to rumors.

It's legit.
I'm running the same, except without the kernel. I have it on my SD card, but I'm just waiting to check out the stock kernel and battery life. I'll probably install it later.
I'm waiting on a stable Sense 3.0 ROM, Virus ROM looks close but not there yet.

Nice man repped...tried it and gps status pulled sats right away. I had a bit of trouble flashing a sense rom since clockwork wouldnt let me, had to flash amon ra recovery. I also flashed that kernel you have and saw you can overclock it to 1267 now ....my phone won't go higher than 1190...it freezes and reboots if i go higher.
