Thread: HIIT every day?

    HIIT every day?

    Would it be detrimental to do HIIT every day? I've been a good runner all my life, but I've never looked into HIIT until now, and I'm going to do my first workout this afternoon. I have about 4 months to train for something I'm going to be trying out for at school which I'll need to be in the best cardio shape of my life. Should I do it every day or 3x a week? I'll be lifting 4x a week as well.

    3 times a week is enough, but it all depands on what your training for.

    Do you need to be able to run for (X)min finish or (X)distance in (X)time ?

    And I'll basically need to be able to do a TON of stationary military-esque exercises, then run ~6 miles while carrying a 15 lb rifle, and not fall out of the run, however fast the guys that made the squad last year decide to run us. There are usually very few people who make it without falling out of the run, and its pretty much 15 days in a row of that style PT

    Well people are different. If you can hack it every day then do it. If you cant then have a rest day in between every workout.

    i think 3 times a week is fine...after that you could possibly run the risk of losing muscle...just take it slow for a while, then maybe add a day later on, such as a few months from now

    weightlifting 4x a week and HIIT everyday? such a routine won't last for more than 2 weeks, trust me..

    maybe you won't experience loss of muscle, but your CNS will be totally knocked out..

    HIIT every day is too much. You need a day to recover. 3x/week is plenty.
