    Layne nortons routine

    Everyones whos tryed layne nortons routine what did you think of it? and what days should I be doing abs?? also was curious if its ok to switch straight leg dls for sumo dls on mondays as im trying to bring my dl up.

    and if it matters my stats are
    bench pr - 225x3 or 215x5
    squat pr - 235x5
    dl pr - 315x5
    weight - about 165ish

    Monday: Upper Power -5x5 or 3x5 for all lifts

    Barbell Bench Press
    Barbell Rows
    Military Press
    Pull-ups
    Barbell Curl
    Skull crushers or heavy dips
    Barbell Shrugs111

    Tues: Lower Power -5x5 or 3x5 for all lifts(5x5 on bulk cause recovery is better, 3x5 on cut)

    heavy hip thrust
    6-8 sets of Standing Calf, little higher reps, I like to do 6-8 on heavy days
    Wednesday: Off

    Thursday: Hypertrophy Chest/Arms (For hypertrophy days I never go to failure, always stop about 2 reps before failure)

    pulled by back dling and that basically put me out of the gym for 2 weeks and then had to get my wisdom teeth out and that was another week out of the gym, by the time I was able to really go back to the gym didnt feel like starting madcows again. Besides as I said I want a routine more directed to hypertrophy than madcows.

    Yes he does. But Layne comes from a strength/power lifting background and got that strength first.

    At 5'10 167lbs and with your lifts, you'd get a lot more mileage out of a straight up strength oriented program like madcows (plus some more isolation work after the big compounds in each workout) then only lifting heavy once a week for each bodypart.

    My personal opinion, I'd like to hear from Layne actually. Guy is a beast.
