Hello to any readers.
Normally I would try to start a log with some profound or motivational quote that I could look back at, and that would inspire me to do my best. In this case, I cannot think of anything that quite fits how I am feeling. All I know is that certain things in my life have not been good, whereas others have improved. Bottom line, I need to fix the things that have not been good and continue to improve on the things I am excelling in. That's what I hope to do in this log- just... improve.
Right now, I am 5'8", weighed in at 217lbs. yesterday, (no idea what my bodyfat is, but 25% is a good estimate), and I don't know what lifts are like. My goal right now is just to get lean and muscular.
This log will become a smattering of workouts as well as my personal life and any other thoughts I might have.
Progress pics and more coming soon.

Walking, fast pace: 55 mins
Comments:
This felt good. Have spent the past week getting a heavy load of schoolwork out of the way and getting my diet in order. Current pics will be added on Monday after I do my weekly weigh-in. I will also begin lifting Monday morning (11/19).

I've been getting sicker and sicker since I first started this log. Just my body's way of reacting to the pre-Thanksgiving school workload. I did a bodyweight workout on Monday, was off on Tuesday, and decided not to do a "real" workout today. This will be a slow-going process. Pic(s) will be up once I can find a computer that will manage my camera (my laptop sucks).

It was about 25*F for this one. I felt like **** right after it, but I feel high as the sky right now. Weighed in at 218 this morning (pre-workout). The Thanksgiving holiday was good to me in terms of rest and recovery. I feel pretty good right now.Motorcycle riders: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=2981441

It felt strange to be back at the weights, like I forgot I ever did this before. I woke up fairly sore just from the above workout. I'll do something similar tomorrow. The goal is to start a "real" routine on Monday.Motorcycle riders: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=2981441

221lbs.
Should've weighed myself in the morning but didn't. Snapped a different pic than the ones that were on my camera.
I have a lot of work ahead of me:
-Stop boozing (I have resources to help me now).
-Start eating right.
-Start talking to people and being open.
-Start valuing my life a little more.
-Continue to place emphasis on education, despite the recent slip-ups. Relief is right around the corner.
-Get another/ an additional job that would be beneficial to a future career.
-Be more cleanly and neat in appearance.
-Start organizing my time better.
-Stay positive.
-This is my life. Time to take control of it for myself.

More for today:
40 mins walking, fast pace
Comments:
Was kind of chilly out. The dog was ready to go and so was I after a final exam. GPA went up by 0.24 points after my first one on Tuesday. Hoping for a similar result after this one and the two I have tomorrow. I've already picked out classes for next semester and it looks like they will make for a fun/ stressful semester but it will be my last semester at this college.Motorcycle riders: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=2981441

I've been falling apart physically and mentally recently. Haven't been sleeping, random bouts of puking, not eating right, alcohol. I cared about a person more than I've ever cared about a human being and they left me. I have a break from school so I hope that helps. I just feel crippled lately, hence the lack of workouts. Funny enough, I know that eating right, lifting and lack of booze would make me feel better.
I need to turn it around.

How many times can it change
How long will I be restrained
It's appalling to think that
All my time seems to be wasted
Will it stop or is it only beginning
Here on the inside
My life is not over
I'm down again
Fake Smiles surround me all day
No More can I tolerate
These excuses or all this

Squats felt good. My right knee was bugging me a little bit, like it needed to be cracked or something. I like the idea of working with triples, doubles and singles on squat/ dl and I think I will be using this in future workouts. 225 wasn't a huge biggie for me. I'm gonna need to start adding weight to the bar if I want to make any progress. Also not sure what else I could throw in on leg days except isolation exercises or barbell lunges.Motorcycle riders: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=2981441

As long as you keep overloading, you will get there. What routine are you on? I feel like you would really like mine. It's centered on explosive lifts via a Push/Pull scheme. Keep up the good work and just stay consistent. Fight through the stagnation and know that it will end and you will come out of your little rut. I felt the same way no more than two weeks ago.
