Very Stubborn Fat (Genetic) - HELP!
Hi Guys,
I have a questions which everybody I ask including trainers seem to answer differently. I really need somebody's advise because I am starting to give up!!! I am 25 female, been exercising 4-6 days a week for the past 2 years, lost 2 dress sizes and have quite a good figure (very toned arms, legs etc..). My BIGGEST problem are in the Glute area, its genetic (my grandma and mom are like this), and it just won't go. I weight train twice a week with a personal trainer, cardio 4-5 days a week at intense levels (Target Heart Rate 155-160) I can lift quite heavy thats no probs, but the fat just stays there! I hate wearing a bikini
Food intake is good, less carbs at night, no sweets etc... I am relatively very healthy, and also just quit smoking.
Help!

I have read over and over again that you can't spot reduce. My problem for most of my life was love handles and at 50 I was sure I needed liposuction to get rid of them. But a serious change in attitude and with some hard work they eventually came off. Now I'm not a professional but I would assume the more training you do for that area, the more muscle you build and the more pronounced it will become. Frankly, if you're in as good a shape as you say, you're probably your own worse critic! My next advise may sound very wierd but I would see someone who could help with body issues. It did wonders for me and I highly recomend it. If you would like to know more, please feel free to send me a personal message through this site.

This.
you can work out all you want, but unless you are eating at the proper deficit you won't loose weight.
When I started actually tracking my food intake I was SHOCKED at how much I was actually eating over what I needed to.

yup. and even genetics are no match for a caloric deficit. you may store more fat in certain areas then others.......but it all goes away with dieting evenly. if your butt is where all the fats at, then your body will burn fat from your butt, simple as that.

What's your body fat percentage?
What are your maintenance calories?
How many calories are you taking in?
The answers to these questions will help.
And don't get too carried away like Cameron here...

You know men do like bigger butts in women. On another note, if you want to spot reduce, you can't but you can work on the muscles in that area to firm up your rear and to make it look less flabby. I would do more squats with a heavy weight for 12reps x 5. You may have been avoid working out this area because you thought it would make it bigger, trust me it won't!!!
Btw I am serious men like big asses, I believe you'd be mutilating you body trying to reduce your best asset!!!

Wait.......as a guy I'll tell you, fat in the butt is sexy as hell. WHY WOULD YOU LOOK TO GET RID OF IT??!?!!??!?!!
Unless your competing in a bodybuilding competition, there is no reason to want the fat off your butt. Just my opinion.

I completely agree a bigger butt does look good to a point on a women. Now we obviously don't know how much is there and it isn't appropriate to be showing us your butt, but some fat on the butt is nice as long as there isn't a whole bunch.

Gluten free, calorie deficit diet + cardio
simple, straight to the point, generally works for stubborn fat.

Losing a nice ass insanity....
My gf is on a diet with me, her goal weight being 130, if she loses her butt, she will be doing heavy squats and eating over maintenance until it comes back.
A girl without something to hold on to is so boring. I'll leave the stick women to boy lovers.
But... If you're dead set.... Lower calories, exercise.
Start: 04/01/2013 342lbs 45%+ BF
Goal: 245lbs and 6 min mile
ST Goal: 320lbs and 1.75 min quarter mile
4-1: 342 | 4-7: 337 | 4-14: 336 | 4-21: 336 | 4-28: 329 | 5-4: xxx | 5-11: xxx | 5-18: xxx | 5-25: xxx | 6-1: xxx | 6-8: xxx | 6-15: xxx | 6-22: xxx |
Final Weigh-in | 7-1: xxx
Goal weigh in for 7-1: 315

You know, guys, this is serious! The OP is looking for constructive feedback, not your various Sir Mixalot-esque opinions on the relative sexyness of a large boo-tay.
OP, I would suggest that you PM me any pictures so I can take an honest, objective look at the situation away from the purview of these rapscallions.

I've got some love handles that NEVER seem to want to go away. I think it's genetic as well.

I've read quite a few studies that state that there isn't really any such thing as being 'genetically' fat, atleast not to the degree that people report being so. Pretty much all agree that while there is the possibility of having a genetic issue that affects metabolism or hormones that could fuel obesity, that is really only true in about .001% of the overweight/obese people.
Most agree that it only appears to be genetic because fat children have fat parents. Many of these people and studies are saying that for the most part, obese children of obese adults are that way because they are learning the poor eating/exercise habits that makes them obese from parents who also have the same crappy eating/exercise habits that made them obese themselves.
With women, its just nature for the most part. Sorry girls, you generally carry a little more bodyfat then men. Our bodies are designed for different functions. It can be squared away with the proper intensity exercise and good dieting, but honestly, why would you want to do that? You can have too much of anything, including fat loss. Women are supposed to be a little soft. I'm not saying fat, but unless you got some serious dimples in your butt...like the surface of the moon or something, dont mess up a nice booty because someone in a magazine or on a website tells you that you can only be sexy if you can see the striations in your glutes.
