Thread: Stop Rippetoes?

    Question Stop Rippetoes?

    So ive been lifting for about 1.5 years now, but my lifts didnt seem to progress much, although i became more defined, anyways, so i switched to rippetoes 2 months ago, my lifts have gone up quite abit;

    Before................Current
    Bench - 60lbs (3x5) 125lbs (3x5)
    Squat - 50lbs (3x5) 140lbs (3x5)
    Deadlift - 90lbs (3x5) 170lbs (3x5)

    I know my lifts are still weak, but im just wondering if i should stop rippetoes SS and go back to a workout with more excersises that are not just compound movements.

    My main goal is to gain size.

    No sorry, those lifts were recorded from when i started SS a few months back.

    I dont seem to be gaining much size, i know the program is aimed mostly at strength gains, although id much rather focus on gaining size now.

    Definitely stick to rippetoe's. In fact if I were you I'd stick to rippetoe's until you doubled your current lifts.

    I have only been on rippetoes for 2 months, not 1.5 years. those stats are from a few months ago.

    I've only been lifting for 2 years and I can do more than double those numbers.

    No offense, but if you lifted for 1.5 years and your lifts are still that low, you should consider paying for a personal trainer at your gym. Not trying to say you're weak or anything, but after 1.5 years you should be much further than that. Good luck in getting up your maxs!
