The Euefa Champions League (there are other champions leagues now in other confederations) is the most prestigious tournament for european club football. (they allow israel and turkey in, turkey is borderline but israel because their neighbors wont allow them in)
anyways its for the top teams in europe so of course other nations get in, and like i said, depending on the league the top 2-4 of each get in, england, scotland, spain, france, italy, germany, netherlands, etc.
The final is a huge event like the superbowl (bigger) BUT the European Championships for nations is bigger. Euro 2012, etc. but that's every 4 years.

One more stupid question and then I'll be done at least for tonight.
La Liga is basically Spain's equivalent of the English Premier League, right?1

the difference is that at the start of a PL season, you have teams like arsenal, usually liverpool and now city that begin the season with the title as a somewhat realistic goal (inb4 scoffing, etc.)
do you think valencia or villareal start the season with even the slightest hope that they can win the title? of course not. they know there's not a chance in hell.
the premier league usually narrows down to a two-horse race for the final few months of a season, but la liga is a two-horse race before it even begins.
and of course this.

Barca are in their own stratosphere, so that's moot. wigan, blackpool, etc. beating the top 3 are nothing more than minor hiccups that happen in the season, like Hercules beating Barca. In the end, it's inconsequential.
because that's what really matters at the end of the day. all the early season flutters and upsets all unravel and things look the same come may.
1)the only people who believe arsenal, city and liverpool have anything more than a mathematical chance, especially nowadays, are fans of those teams. Realistically, it's nothing more than a pipe dream. It's a nice slogan to shout to add some excitement, but it all unfolds the same.
2)when you're in the same league as barca, your title ambitions will always look minimal.Friendship b/w women:

I was meaning more the players and members of those teams. they truly believe they can win when they start the season. their table-position equivalents in la liga know that they don't have even the slightest of chances. really, their chances are about as good as a PL team like villa or fulham.
and yeah, barca are in their own realm at the moment, but madrid, while a bit behind barca, are still worlds better than anyone else below them.

I don't give a sht about La Liga and I imagine Spanish people don't give a sht about the Premier League. This argument is so dumb. In reality both leagues have one dominant team and one serious challenger, yes the teams below are better in the prem (Arse/City compared to Valencia/Villareal) but who cares.

Villa have accepted a 20m bid from Liverpool for Downing. They've spent 75m on Carroll, Henderson and Downing Lmao.

Liverpool have gone fully retarded with their signings so far. There is no way those players combined are worth that. Their value shouldn't be much more than £40million.
