Several years ago I was 225lbs at 6' and I'd say no more than 16%BF but lets just bump up that number for ****s and giggles and say I was 20%.
That'd be 185lbs of lean mass, no?
Im now a fat **** after 2 years of drinking and eating like **** cause of woman issues, thank god thats over. I was 270 2 weeks ago and am now 263. Yea I know I couldnt believe it til I got on a scale it was mad depressing. I had been in and out of the gym for 2 years without staying in for more than a month at a time then probably 4-5 months without going.
I'd say Im around 35% BF right now give or take a couple %, so that leaves me with 171lbs of lean mass
Im 2 weeks back in the gym and blowing up fast as always, still a few weeks away from probably being able to do the numbers on weights I'm used to.
But regardless of fat loss, how fast or slow do you all think it would take me to get back to around that 185lbs of lean mass? My diet is plenty good enough and my exercises are just fine, this isnt my first rodeo. But it has been a long time since I've spent more than 5 weeks in the gym at a time.
Im gonna be back in cali and then vegas in 18 days, Im hoping to drop at least another 5lbs of fat but wondering how much muscle I can possibly put back on in that 18 days.
Lastly how do you guys around 6' get down to 185lbs and like 12%? If I was 200lbs right now Id be ripped I couldnt imagine ever getting down to 185 I think itd be impossible and I wouldnt have any mass but some of you look huge at 185

Hey Steve,
A new guy that's been training at my gym in the morning is about your stats, he might do the gateway natty show in May. I don't talk much in the gym, but we chat occasionally between sets. I asked if he competed initially because he looked lean AF, he's about 6' (guessing) sitting about low 180s now, said he'll drop to the low/mid 170s. Don't know his name or anything, but I mentioned I "knew" a guy through a forum that competed in that federation or whatever its called....Hes 50, so probably in your class based on age/weight....

If I understand the NANBF schedule this year, the NANBF St. Louis Naturals (Bodybuilding) is in June this year. The St. Louis Gateway Naturals will still be in September, but no longer have a Men's Bodybuilding category. Oddly enough, they will have Men's Physique and Men's Bikini where competitors walk the T to venue selected music just like the Women's divisions.

Maybe I misheard him, he was thinking about some natty comp in May. Looks like there is one in Wisconsin around then. Sucks they dropped Mens BB for Gateway, nobody wanna train legs anymore? Interesting seeing how he trains though. He certainly does some variety. Mix of heavier stuff (usually slightly reduced ROM keeping tension etc) and lighter TUT stuff. Basics though weighted pull-ups, DB bench, front squats, leg press, BB rows etc...I ony see him on Tuesdays and Thursdays and he's getting started when I'm finishing up. Just strange to see someone using a $10 / mo $hitbox gym for a contest prep .
