Can people usually guess your age correctly?

I get shocking looks from people after I tell them I'm 39 and about to be 40 soon. Typically people guess 25-29. I guess weight training and living a cleam life truly is the fountain of youth.

Co-workers on the job who don't know my age are always surprised to learn that I am over 50. It's sort of nice! LOL They don't think I'm 30, but they normally think early 40's.

I had a couple of co-workers guess my age as late 20's. I'll be 40 in a couple of months. Although a disappointing moment: One of those same co-workers saw a picture of me before I started hitting the gym again (around 2002-ish), and she said "Wow....you looked SO much younger back then"....lol. I guess I was considerably younger....but still.

No, they usually think I'm about 28 especially when my hair is long like it is now. My mother looks much younger than she is too, so I'm not going to say it's all from healthy living but it definitely doesn't hurt.

Most people would have to stand on a chair to look me eye to eye, so I highly doubt they'd estimate my age right. I don't care how old people think I am, what I want them to think when they see me is "damn that dude is HUGE and looks f-ing strong too".

A majority of the people I meet are surprised when I tell them I'm 62.
I guess it's because I'm hiding the gray hair.

Gray hair, gray beard, and crow's feet. They usually guess mine 10 years more! I can't (or let's say I won't) do anything for above the neck, but I can sure do something about below it. I can still fit into the pants that I wore in high school, and I can do 20 chinups and nearly 100 pushups.

Nobody ever said they thought I looked older, but I guess most people wouldn't say that, would they?


I think I just look my age, only a really fit my age.

I feel pleased as nobody gets my age right, I usually get guessed at 10-15 years younger than I am.
I work with a guy just 2 years older than me and he easily looks old enough to be my dad!

People almost always peg me 10-15 years younger.

Depends on a number of factors like clean features, build, appearance and added weight can really alter how old one looks also some people just age amazingly well (oo almost forgot the sun, hot climate can hugely age)..

Back in 97 I was sporting a full beard, had long hair with some receding hairline and was asked how old I was.. I told them to guess. They went with 37. When I told them I was 27 they called me a liar and said there was no way I was that young and they did not believe me..

Now when I started my current cut/get into shape so that the slow changes would not be missed by me due to daily mirror use I grew my beard again.. After 6 months I just took the whiskers off and was just told I look 15 years younger (not sure how old they thought I was before)… I put it down to combination of losing 35lb in that time and the beard.. Before I was in imminent danger of getting a double chin, while now my facial features are starting to sharpen up nicely and the beard did a good job of hiding the changes and sharpening features!! Realy interested to see how the loss of the next 20lb affects things..

I must say many people in this forum look amazing for their age, blows my mind when I see people who look great and look like they are 10-20 (ore more) years younger than they realy are!!

I have the potential to look waaaaaaaay older than I actually do. I went out with two chicks and a buddy of mine a few months back. I was dressed pretty sharp, and I act mature for my age anyway. It must have took them 15+ attempts before they got my age correct, and they only did so by process of deduction (knew I completed college). I got ages from 20 - 31 (I'm 21).

Depends on the haircut, lol. If it's cut close I can easily pass for late 20s or early 30s. The longer it gets the more grey shows.

Me too, from the neck up. I did go for a shorter haircut and went from a beard to a goatee which took maybe 5 years off my appearance.

My defining moment to get back into the gym happened at a local diner. My back was "out" and I was walking way crooked whenever I first stood up from sitting. I got to the cashier and handed her my check and the amount she rang up was less than the check.. I asked what gives.. she says, that's with the SENIOR CITIZEN DISCOUNT. My wife laughed...
