I eat like this except I don't fast. I can't imagine not eating for 12 hours. I'm hungry all the fuking. Does IF really make that big of a difference? What if your goals are strength oriented will you really be able to make large strides on your lifts if you're eating once every 12 hours?

I don't understand the hatred for Crossfit. It really is an additional tool you can use to better your body. I have been weight training for more than 20 years. I tried crossfit about a year ago, and can honestly say it is a great workout. If you are trying to bulk up, I don't recommend it. However, for general betterment of your physique, it is awesome.

youre a fireman right?
heavy tire drags..attached a rope and drag it forward(hoseline) and backwards(rescue)
sledgehammer swings on said tire(ventilation, force entry)
heavy farmers walks(equipment carry, increase grip/forearm strength)
push press(overhaul)
clean and jerk(ladder raise-helps with coordination, lower body explosiveness/strength/power)
heavy tire pull(feeding hose-get on 1 knee and pull it in)
sandbag lift and carry(rescue, equipment)
deadlifts(rescue/lifting pt.'s)
front squats and zercher squats(otj performance is mostly front loaded, ie rescue)
The problem with CrossFit is that it does not address specificity, firefighters do very specific movements. Even the Crossfit-Firefighter site is a joke. Yes, your conditioning will go up, but why not improve conditioning and job performance. I looked at their workouts......no heavy drags or loaded carries. Why do 100 pushups, when you should do 50 reps with a 45 pound plate on your back? Why go on a rowing machine when you can pull in a heavy tire/weight??? Why throw a medicine ball against a wall??? Or jump on 24 inch box?? Why not lift and carry a sandbag, do suicide sprints, do heavy farmers walks???
Don't job on the bandwagon like other fireman do and join a CrossFit.
Most people who say CrossFit is great, is because they did the typical bench press/curls jog 30 minutes routine, they never did intense interval training before.
Also doing bb'ing/isolation/hypertrophy work should be done, despite what CF's tell you, you need to strengthen every part of your body.

He left out the part where he guzzles gallons of sailor sperm daily. Us green berets eat those pussy seals for breakfast. Back in nam, we used to have those seals scrubbing our fleshlights out with their toothbrushes. Back in nam, when you could rent a little squinty eyed boy for a few dollars an hour to do with as you please, and we knew what we were fighting for man.

this intermittent fasting that you guys speak of, and the article speaks of, how does it really work?
i have been thinking of doing it because of current circumstances. i see he speaks of 15 hours of not eating?
so is that saying, stop eating at 10 at night, and fast for 15 hours so basically if you slept 8 hours, and you add 7 hours upon that of day fasting, means that one eats at like 3 until 10....
what do they eat there? the 500 over maintenance, or maintenance?
i have checked out that lean gains blog and never understand how much calories is suppose to be eaten.
the first real answer will get repped*If you have a personal blog you are looking to get readers to, and want to network with me, get at me in my inbox. It's just basically a link exchange or just an extra person to view and comment for free :)

I have done this every day for the last 2 months and I am now below 10% bf still weigh 180 strength has increased just slightly but what has been most dramatic has been the incredible energy I seem to have now and mental clarity. A regular meal for me looks like this. Full bag of mixed veggies( broccoli carrots green beans) 2-3 steaks or a full safeway chicken, spinach salad with almonds olive oil pecans tomatoes. Then relax, wAtch some tv or something, 2 hours later hunger is stirring again. Head of broccoli 4-6 hard boiled eggs tbsp peanut butter ( or 3) flaxseed oil more almonds . That's it. Fast for another 16+ hours ,24+ hours non workout. Meals are different every night but same idea. sometimes I'll eat an apple around noon if I feel the need, but usually not.

strong bull****.
try not eating for 15 hours and then go deadlift or squat, see how fast you feel dizzy and faint"If, therefore, any be unhappy, let him remember that he is unhappy by reason of himself alone"
