Lol he was RIGHT by saying that's no-one knows who is right.
If you dispute that you need to have a re-think about your life and the direction that it's heading, because the goals you've set for yourself are probably too high and you will just end up disappointed.
Real talk.

you make a good point, thats what i meant about humans having more brain power/emotions then other animals. i think the human race just has to believe in "something" regardless of how much it makes sense which is why people believe in religion. but religion is the only thing that has no proof and will never be able to be proven so i just cant understand why someone would believe in it. even the most absurd conspiracy theory's have some underlying evidence that makes people believe. religion is nothing but a bedtime story passed on though the ages that people generation after generation just began to believe that it was true (just my opinion)

nooooo. peolpe lead to that. to blame the actions of people on religion is simply ignorant. it's not God who is responsible for those actions. it's people who use His name to support their own actions and desires. there's a very fine line between the will of God and the will of men who would do things in His name.
i'm not a "churchy" kind of guy, but i am a guy who can look at it for what it is. people do those things. God doesn't magically put a dagger in their hands and say, "do it, *******."
99% of religions preach peace and understanding. if you wanna point the finger at anyone, point it at yourself. people fukk it up. not God.

Good post, see you can have an intelligent conversation on the subject matter. Nice of you to say JUST MY OPINION. Some people dont know that its just THEIR opinion and they try and force feed it to others and call them stupid. So thanks for the first intelligent answer given in this post not ridiculing someone who believes differently then yourself. You seem level headed and I appreciate that. It makes for way better convo when you can just let odds and ends be that. I can never prove you wrong and you cant prove me wrong. So why argue? Glad you see that. Wish others would too.......
About the conspiracies.........Im a 32nd degree Freemason. Dont buy into that garbage either LOL.When you get in the gym, hear the weights calling you out.......Then tear that mother effer down!!!!!!-me

Well most people find it easier, don't have to think and wonder why, where, and how. Simple minded, its much more simple to believe somebody else, than to make your own conclusions.
Why people watch the news, read the paper. Its right there in front of them edited to their own interests, and nothing more. They broadcast, write what you want to hear, see, and read. The reality is, what is reality? What is existence?
How do you describe, define reality? Something you can see, smell, or touch? Its nothing more than signals in your brain, if you imagine something does it exist? It must if the imagination is yet another signal in your brain.
I personally think that existence is within your self, if you believe that god exists it exists within your self, to some that imagination gives hope, moral values ect. If you take away persons ability to imagine what they want, the person is hopeless; dead.

[QUOTE=MrBoombastic;678911331] you dont have a reason to call ANYONE an idiot.
that was my point to begin with.
you specifically said that OP has proven that he's an idiot
why? because he believes in what he believes?
when the only idiot here is clearly you.
whats worse is that you dont realize how truly stupid you are
your mother shouldve aborted you when she had the chance

The difference comes when these baseless beliefs start encroaching on the lives of human beings that are real and that live and breath. Like the *******s who want evolution to stop being taught in schools, or that certain scientific research is immoral and should be stopped (stem cell research, perfect example), or even that jackass who threatened to get physical with me and a friend as I escorted her to Planned Parenthood. He stopped real fast when a gun was pointed at him and his family.

OP proved he was an idiot when he said he was right about a topic that no one can prove with 100% certainty. It's the same as me starting a thread that said "A magical dragon created all of us and everybody else has no common sense if they believe otherwise." If I started a thread like that, I would be an idiot too. You have to have an open mind.

Ahh, now we are getting somewhere bro. I agree with you and I also have been battered and beat to death with religion. But I dont blame God. I believe anyone can do anything they want. Its not up to me to judge anyone for anything. Like I said about the voodoo chicken blood bull****, dont do it to me but save me the chicken cuz Ill eat that ****! People are the poison though, that is the first TRUTH here. Man has ****ed up everything we've tried. I agree that ANY research than can be done to help advance the human race should be done or else we are ignoring our principle instinct of survival. As for the guy who threatened you, you should have just punched him in his grill. I believe in any religious freedom, or any personal freedom, but if you fly a plane into a building and kill innocent people be ready for that ass to get owned. If you protest a military funeral near me, you will be a new hood ornament to my jeep. That is why people eff things up. They cant just let THEIR beliefs be their beliefs. So those people should stfu and mind their own bidness. That **** is annoying. Glad we could get to a common ground here.

Put it this way, most except the big bang theory, right? Well what was it before that? There was a philosopher cant remember his name who stated that nothing exists out of its own existence, things just don't appear out of nowhere. He also made an argument: A complex watch, has parts in which they all work together, every part serves its purpose. The watch may not be perfect in design, but if one part fails the watch cant work. The watch has a watch maker, the one who created the watch and designed it. The universe is also not perfect, but every thing relies on one another. The sun we need it, the way we orbit around it, the moon we need it all without those we would not be here. The universe is complex so there must be a creator, what ever it might be.
There is also a philosopher who talked about god being just a vast space of information, just as we have bits of information flying around form cell phones ect. Out there is information in which over time is fed to our planet, which is how we come up with these crazy technologies, we becomes smarted every generation. Supposedly that cloud of information is god lol.

Its not religion thats causing problems, just as you stated its the human race. Morality is the problem here, people have different moral values. If asked anyone is murder morally wrong, well of course. Then you have some that would say well in certain circumstances its not, wtf? What circumstances? There are things that are morally wrong, and we all agree on them, but all those moral values did not just come out of no where. Before you bash on religion you have to realize that religion set a foundation for moral values. If we never had religion, in a state of nature people would rob each other, kill each other over chickens because thats just survival who is there to tell them its morally wrong? Even in a state of nature, people would eventually come up with laws, because we as people are afraid of one another. We as humans all can do evil things if given the opportunity, think of the last time you wanted to bash some dude because he cut you off or what ever, you dint do it because you would go to jail and you know that because its morally wrong. If that was not the case then you would.

This argument is a fat steaming piles of AIDS. If the universe must have a creator, then from where did this creator come from? And if this creator is allowed to have always existed, then why is it impossible for the universe to have always existed in one form or another?
If something like god exists, I would imagine this is what it would be like. Sounds like Pantheism tbh. Which I think is a much more valid view of things unknown than any religion out of a religious text, especially the recent monotheistic religions. I believe that over time, religious views with mostly conform to a deist/pantheistic view.-We got a backup plan?
