Well I posted this in my log but I haven't got any answers so thought I would try here..
I am doing starting strength and lately added tri dips to w/o A.
I was wondering when to start adding weight to them? My last workout I did 2x10 bw.
Thanks!

Add weight when you move out of the rep range you want to work in.
If you are trying to work in the 8-12 rep range, once you hit 12 reps for all your sets, then add weight to push you back lower in the rep range and work back up.
When you add weight is entirely up to you and your goals.

If you are already benching prior to the dips, I'd suggest staying in a higher rep range, to sort of work the "other end of the spectrum" from the lwoer rep bench you'll be doing.
One big reason STYD is talking about getting good form w/ bodyweight, is because guys will often times start sacrificing form to keep adding that little bit extra weight to "show progress", as all they end up doing is wrecking their shoulders and doing nothing for their muscles.
Given your already benching work, I'd say work to like sets of 15reps at BW or so before adding weigth.-

Ok so once I get to 2x15 bw should I start back at like 2x8 with 5lbs? And work back up to 2x15 then 10lbs and so on?
Also, I workout at home so if you mean adding weight to show off ? I don't think my cat would be too impressed! For me I always do form over weight.
Thanks again you are really helping me!

People show off for themselves as well.
If you add 5lbs to 2x15bw, I doubt you'll drop to 8. Probably drop down to 12-13 reps, then work back to 15 and then add 10lbs.
Stick w/ that theme until you start to know your body more, your limits and more clear lines of your goals and start changing from there.-

Exactly,
Mastering higher rep bw dips acclimates the shoulders, tris, lower chest, and associated tie in muscles to the movement. When weight is eventually slowly added the muscles will be ready to cope with the extra load safely because the control will be there. And its where controlling weight establishes that all important mind muscle connection which will lead to muscle gains.
