I am on medication for high BP too due to genetics.
Most doctors really won't understand the label if you take it to them. And in the days of people being sue happy, most doctors are very conservative when it comes to questions you wanna ask about supplements.
Best bet is to monitor your BP yourself. Stimulants will raise heart rate and BP and during exercise that is fine to a point. You really want to make sure it comes back down after exercise is over. Also, I do take some pre-workout stimulant products but I always use the lowest dose of the product such as one scoop for most. I also make sure I don't take these stimulant pre-workouts for an extended period of time since I have high BP and I make sure I don't ingest any caffeine or other stimulants on days I do not workout. Pump-bol or Ultima is a good pre-workout to use on times where you cycle off of the stimulants if you choose to use them.
Hope that helps.
