I'm not going to personally attack the guy because he could very well be a perfectly decent human being, but I am also not going to congratulate him for lifts that I feel are not the the standard of performance they should be held

So I was at Barnes & Nobles and picked up a copy of powerlifting USA and power magazines. I don't remember which one, but in it is the rant of the month. This rant was written by none other than the powerlifting sensation, Wilkerson. In this article, he says "...why do I have to do so much more just to get a 'respectable' squat? I mean, really, do I need to squat 4 inches deeper, walk it out, and play the piano with my toes...?" No buddy, I would be happy with just the 4 inches deeper. Then later in the article he says us critics are destroying the sport of powerlifting with our "petty jealousy and egos." I wish I could get back the three minutes it took to read this article. What is happening in powerlifting? This isn't just about Wilkerson, we need to shape up powerlifting if we want it to get main stream. In my opinion, we need to cut the amount of federations, especially ones like the SPF that are passing the trash that they call "squats."

My thoughts exactly, way too many lax judging on squats. The SPF is a joke, thanks for the heads man. I will give that article a miss!
