honestly I dont mind pink products...love them
so was thinking about this more and was watching Ava Cowan (what a doll) train and for deadlifts she uses some cushioned straps....these take off the pressure off the arms/forearms and allows her to focus on hamstrings...Im thinking these are a good investment...anyone have experience with using straps for deadlifts? are they really good for focusing more on the hamstrings???

Callouses aren't bad looking or "rough" if you take care of them correctly. I get them from weights & the uneven bars & I only have three thick spots on each hand.
A couple things you can do,
-LIGHTLY pumice them in the shower, just enough to take off the top layer
-after a shower when the top layers turn white you can use your nails (or a butter knife if you don't have nails) & just lightly make quick strokes over them until the edges of the callous blend in with the softer skin

I love my gloves! I use Bionic and yes, they are pink and black! Had them for over a year and they are still in great condition. I even occasionally wash them by tossing them in a mesh bag in the wash and let them air dry.

SO! I have continued lifting without gloves now since I first posted and it really isn't that bad. The first few times in general I lifted, my hands looked awful and hurt so bad! I lifted yesterday and they only turned a little red but they did not hurt or anything. I actually like not having any gloves on and feeling it hurt a little now ha ha is that weird?!

I use gloves for everything and straps with no gloves for deadlifts or stuff where I need grip help. Callouses are pointless to me and I don't like having my hands hurt when I'm lifting, its distracting. Least I could do for my husband is still have soft hands still even with my hard body.
I swear, this 9 pounds better have been worth it.

Harbinger just the basic black lifting gloves. I love them! I have tried so many different kinds mostly because I thought they looked cute and quickly fond out that was a bad decision. Those are the only ones that have held up and they have nice padding in the palms! Breaking them in takes a coule workouts but my hands have not gotten one dry or rough spot yet!

I use straps for a couple different things and it's not so much to take the pressure off the arm its more taking the focus off your grip so you can focus on that muscle group instead of your grip slipping. Its more for heavier weight. I use them a lot when I do shrugs for that reason. I use heavy weights and don't want to have to worry about dropping one if my grip slips.
