    Stretching

Curiously I never stretch. I don't recall any injuries that I can attribute to it. So how important is it? Or is it important?

it isnt overly important, but id recommend it before working out jst to loosen your muscles up and get the blood flowing a bit. and do a few warm up sets before each exercise. Although having more flexibility can help decrease the risk of injury

    This is almost right.

Most commonly practiced/accepted practice for sports performance would be:
    1) Warmup consisting of dynamic stretching/mobility work
    2) actual training
    3) cool down/static stretching
