I was thinking...(which is bad) which muscles to work together. I want to hit each muscle 2x a week as it has been proven to be okay. I'm thinking something like
Chest/Tris
Back/Bis
Legs/shoulders?
This is where I'm confused. I don't want to overtrain. Does this give my shoulders enough rest?
Then it's back to Chest/Tris ... etc, etc.
I'll have a rest day on Sunday.
Thanks guys.

Guessing Game
There is an incredible amount of information missing, but you aren't hitting muscles 2x a week with that workout. You're hitting shoulders 6x a week. Triceps 4x a week. Back 4x a week. A proper leg workout is a full body workout.
Without knowing your set/reps, progression ideas, exercise selections... you'll likely overtrain. Or, your body will adapt to the stress and you'll be able to chug right along. *shrug* But there are other ways of doing things to hit body parts more than you will with that workout and without having to ask if you're overtraining.

I've done a full body workout & I just didn't like it. People have different taste I guess. I want to learn the ropes of how to put together a workout. I want to put together something where I can workout Monday - Saturday. Just confused as what muscles to put together as there are a ton of ways. Trying to find the most effective to you guys so I can expirement it and see if it works the same for me.
Thanks guys.
Repping BTW.

Personally I think that you will get much better results with a fullbody program, but I guess doing a split is better than not doing a fullbody program. Have you looked into 531?

The thing about full body splits I get bored throughout the week only working out three days a week. Yes I've looked into that as well. I've seen where most people just do:
Monday - Chest
Tuesday - Legs
Wednesday - Back
Thursday - Bi/Tri
Friday - Chest
Saturday - Legs
Sunday - Off
Monday - Back
Etc.
Does this seem effective at all? Or is it better to split them up into a
Chest/Tri
Back/Bi
Legs
Chest/Tri
Back/Bi
Legs

Because training everything as a system 3 days a week is better than training it once or twice a week in isolation.
Like I said in that other tread, you can't really look at elite level athletes and copy what they are doing and expect similar results. Guys like Benedikt Magnusson can't deadlift heavy every week and add weight to the bar every time. You can.*Fat Kunt Krew (FKK)* President: Alan Aragon

True, execuse me for being so foolish. What I'm going to try and if it doesn't work I'm going to take on the full body split just for you Kirra.
Day 1: Legs
Day 2: Chest
Day 3: Back
Day 4: Rest
Day 5: Shoulder
Day 6: Arms
Day 7: Rest
Look good?

It will probably work. If you are a novice (yes an 18 year old guy at 165 pounds is a novice) pretty much anything will work. Some things just work better than others.

I'm currently doing a bastarized version of SS. I work a lot now, long shifts so I have little time for proper sleep and training. You can check my log if you'd like.
I'm not the one to ask about splits as I have minimal experience with those. I'm relatively new to this lifting thing as I've only been lifting somewhat seriously since late August. If I were you I'd PM somebody like All Pro, that guy has been around here for ages and I'm sure that he will be more than willing to help you.*Fat Kunt Krew (FKK)* President: Alan Aragon
