Try dropping your hips just before you begin the pull. The hitching came after you had it locked out so I don't see why you did that.
Also how do you stand on the wall like that?I'm not DrewDarden

lol.
Other than your hitch after you had already locked it out, and the fact that you are pulling on the wall (amazing), not too much wrong here. Just do what drew said with the hips and you should be fine. and I know you didn't hitch until you had already completed the lift (which is weird brah), but dont let it become a habit...its hard to break.

It's hard to tell if your feet are under the bar enough or not. But the bar should be over the middle of your foot. This should leave about a inch or two between your shins and the bar when you are standing straight. Then the bar will be touching your shins when you are ready to pull and should stay on or very close to your body as your pulling up. I literally pull it up my legs when I deadlift.

I r wizard.
As for the hitching I guess it was a mental thing. I felt as if I really didn't lock it out because one if my friends called me out on it when i pulled 405 a while back. So I guess it was to just reassure myself it was fully locked out. I've never done that before and nor did I do it any of my earlier attempts.
Thanks man. Will try the hip thing
Someone told me that I should walk up to the bar shins against it. Then they said I should get into my position and the bar will probably travel maybe an inch, if that. Always get mixed responses on starting position. Also the bar was on my shins, knees the whole way through the lift. But thanks for the advice.Goal: S:405 B:315 DL:505

Oh well this is how I learned to deadlift:
Especially since my gym has hex plates it is easier to keep the bar in one position and move myself in reference to it. But if you have round plates I guess you can do it your way.1372 @ 205
