Thumbs down How to rest between exercies?

So today I'm doing crunches, pushups and bicep curls.. I alawys do them like 1 set to faliure of each exercise at one time.. then rest for 2-3 hours then another set till faliure for each exercises. I do this till I've done 3 sets of all exercies. Is this the best way to do it? Or should I rather do like 3 sets of crunches at one time, all to faliure with 1-2 minutes rest.. then wait like 2-3 hours and do 3 sets of pushups all till faliure with 1-2 minutes rest etc.???

Start with nutrition- learning the basics about calorie and macro/micro nutrients and how they will help you reach your goals, read-

Once you have done that select a proven beginner routine, these are made to give the best results, some good routines would be- Starting Strength, BabyLover's Starting Strength, AllPro's Beginner Routine, StrongLifts 5x5, IceCream Fitness 5x5, Fierce 5, or Coolcicada's Push/Pull/Legs.

Read into those and pick the one you like best.

Doesn't answer the question very well.. Asked a simple question can someone just give simple answer? Don't judge my workout please right now, we can do that later.

It does, your routine is not good; pick a routine from the list I provided for better results, a proven beginner routine is a great place to start.

Depends what you are going for, are you trying to get better at the movements, or build muscle as fast as possible.

No because accumulation of fatigue between sets is also a factor.

Not that such a refinement would be here or there in such a workout.

Workout is trash. Complete.... and utter trash.

That's not even how you increase how many pushups / crunches you can do. There are proven programs to increase that number and to get stronger on those bw exercises.

http://hundredpushups.com/ --- this actually does work, take notes on how it's structured, or even better, follow it for your push-up regime.

All sets, regardless of those 3 exercises should be done consecutively with 90-120 seconds of rest.
    Right.

Ok so I should rest 1 to 2 minutes between sets of exercises instead of a few hours.. What about reps? Should I go to failure with all sets?
Is it better to do like 30, 15 , 12 pushups with minimal rest compared to 30 pushups everytime with a few hours rest?
Once again pls dont tell me workout is bad.. maybe it is bad but not interested in that right now.. Just need something as an example.

    Wink Gains

If your trying to make real gains, my best opinion would be to go to the gym, find a program and focus a lot on your nutrition

When I first started I had an upper and lower body mass building program and made some noticeable gains

You need to lift heavy to get heavy

There are many ways you can go about it. If it's that much of an issue, follow the routine to do "100" pushups as written. You can track your progress. The same can be done for crunches.

Bicep curls.... straight sets of the same weight and up the reps weekly until you can up the weight. Going to failure isn't necessarily better or worse with body weight exercises. I don't have science to back up one being preferable to the other when it comes to the push up or crunch.

And I could not care less if you're not interested in your workout being bad. It is. When you look like complete chit, have little functional strength, and preventable muscle imbalances (assuming you even make gains) don't say you weren't warned. Welcome to honesty.
    Right.

Lol why would I have muscle imbalances? Also this is only upper body, I also do squats and more sport. If u can tell me a better workout routine using only bodyweight exercises and a some weights then go for it.. But let me guess, you are all going to tell me go the gym which isnt very helpful either. People just refuse to answer ur question here eh.. Im already pretty small and I know I can get muscle at home.. Maybe once I'm big and wanna become the hulk I can go gym.. But once again, I know you're all gonna tell me to go gym..Since u called my workout ****, tell me something better with the resources I have,

I answered your question and was critical of your "workout". And you telling me that you do squats doesn't change my opinion at all.

To reiterate, rest 90-120, do all sets of an exercise consecutively OR do one set of each for however many reps and then go through that two more times.
    Right.
