Read the title. Is this allowed? Can male reporters enter ...say...a women's gymnastics locker room with mic and cameras to interview these women as they come out of the shower and get dressed? If not then what's going on with the double standard. Check out the videos below:
If I were Noah or Derrick, I'd be pissed. I know this practice has gone on forever, but seriously, should it? Not just the women in the locker room, but the need to do locker room interviews at all. I used to be naive enough to think there was some special section in the locker room you could go if you wanted to do an interview. But as we can clearly see, these reporters have swarmed the place, they're right next to the showers, filming guys walking in and out with their towels, etc.
If I can't land a job like that for women's sports, then the same should apply to female reporters.
All in all, I think this tradition should end. Rose gives an interview as he's leaving the court, and another post-game interview outside with the table and mics. Why should these men have to give interviews in the locker room?
