People in the civilized world are becoming more and more atheist. This is a very good development indeed, I think 100-200 years from now, hopefully we will have cleansed the world of this filth that is religion. Even if we have to do it by force, aka anti-crusades. Kill everyone who believes in God.

Even without religion, human beings will always be killing eachother because of differing beliefs. Ever see that south park episode where Cartman goes to the future, everyone's atheist but they still go to war with eachother because they don't sit at the table the same way or some ****? It's like that

While the world would be a much better place afterwards, the mean doesn't justify the end. That's a lot of innocent people to kill.

Pff, sounds like a bunch of BS to be honest. Imagine a world with no religion, we would have no extremist muslims, no greedy jews, no redneck christians, no stupid munks, we could build useful things instead of churches and mosques. Instead we could build science laboratories where we research how the universe was created etc.

The world is mostly religious, even at that most of that are christians.
You'd find plenty christians in western countries too - also your country and ancestors lives were founded on christianity.
wut do now OP?
Human beings will always find a way to kill eachother even if it means finding another reason. Dealwithit.jpg

could do this, could do that. You can't override human nature. Teenage philosophers go on about how religion is the root of all evil and causes all this human suffering not realizing that religion is just a crutch that allows this. If not religion, it will be something else.
Wanting to kill an entire group of people based on their beliefs by the way... son...

i am catholic and to me my religion is all about the core values it teaches... I am very aware of the corruption that goes on in the bureaucracy that is the catholic church.. but I don't associate with any of it, and don't agree with it. The priest scandal is shameful..
I focus on the core values of being a good person, honesty, respect etc. Atheists can practice all of this too, but I was raised catholic and raised to hold these values true, and thats what i will always do. Atheists hate too much.

Crusades were evil, agreed. They killed innocent people for different beliefs. Solution: "anti-crusades" kill everyone with different beliefs than you.

lol af founded on christianity....US wasnt founded on christianity, in fact many of the founding fathers were atheist/deist. not christians.
killing based purely on beliefs (which anyone can change) is not evil. in fact its for the greater good.
however i agree killing based on things you cant change, is pure evil ( hitler etc)

If I was in power I would deport religious people to colonies in unpopulated areas, and the ones who refused I would execute. China executed thousands of drug addicts in the early 20th century, this is a similar policy. Religious people hinder progress and cause crime, we have no need for them.

religion is not the enemy....its whackbag extremists...they are the ones who make the news..like the westborro baptist freaks....those who are legit religious be it muslim, christian or jew...and live according to the one universal thread through ALL religions = PEACE...DONT MAKE THE NEWS...
Now I'm no Ghandi myself, infact my average church attendance is probably less than once a year...but we see negative examples of religious extremists day in and day out, Ghandi, Mother Theresa and others where genuinely good people I think and if there were more like them, the world I think would be a better place....
Same argument for Pit Bulls, should we kill off the entire breed because some bad ones made the news when they ripped a face off? Anyone who owns one (myself included) knows they are one of the best dog breeds around, would not trade mine for anything and is excellent with kids...its upbringing and the way it was raised that makes a difference, killing all pit bulls and doing away with all religion is not the answer...

See there's a problem following whatever you were raised to believe in. Of course with you it's fine... you're following good values, but that shouldn't just be because you were raised that way. And it's the follow however I was raised mindset that's responsible for racists and groups like westboro.

wait so to get rid of religious people, you want to kill them and this will obviously start a war. how does this then make you any different from the religious people who start killings because of their beliefs?

lol, optimistic much?
People would still fight and disagree on things in the absence of religion, the only argument is that they may fight less without religion as it would one less thing to fight over.
Religion can do some good too. Their are religions that promote human kindness, self respect etc. and are good social tools to help 'heard the sheep' so to speak.
Its just so naive to think that religion has been the sole reason for the segregation of groups of people that as a result of which potentially greatly limited our ability to progress socially and technologically.
This is similar to saying "If everyone was white/black/asian etc. there would be no race wars and the world would be purified" riiiiiight. With that notion lets just try to eliminate all differences people have and we would never disagree.
In short religion is an effective tool to control social order, some religions promote social disorder while others promote social order by encouraging individuals to act in ways that are positive and base their religious principles on good morals.
Even Richard Dawkins who is an athiest agrees living in a whole of the most adaptable wouldn't be ideal because the rich would dominate the poor, so to base social order on atheistic principles could prove to be chaotic if it were to happenLast edited by GSimon; 05-03-2011 at 12:15 PM.
