I am a 20 year old man and I just got test results back from the lab and my testosterone is at 375 ng/dl. I wanted to know if this level was low enough to hinder fat loss and muscle growth. I have never been able to go lower than 12 percent bodyfat without losing massive amounts of muscle, no matter how slow I was cutting. opinions?

I believe the avg is 250-500... or 250-750. So your not that that low. So i dont think it matters that much. Just make sure your getting enough protein in while your cutting. Ya going for a slow cut will help fo sho. But just make sure your getting at least 1 g of protein per lb you weigh. I personally do about 1.5 per lb

It seems everyone on here has low t-levels why don't you try eating and jerking the meat once in a while instead of worrying about low t-levels yikes!

05-03-2011, 04:23 PM #17Your only as powerful as what drives you. Is it anger? rage? remorse? filling the void with something? displaying a work of art? your zen-relaxation? Are you proving something to yourself? Trying to forget something? Doing it to GET a girl? Doing it to help others? Pushing yourself just to find your limits? An OCD compulsion to constantly improve? Somethings are better power sources than others depending on your own psychology. I have my own, you'll find yours. Thats the hardest part. -Dk

that why I got the test. I have been experiencing serious fatigue during the latter part of the day and I am unable to concentrate as well. Its tough to find a doctor who will give me anything because Im technically within normal range. I dont understand why the range is so wide tho, its like 275-1050 for men 20-25.

Your T levels are low for your age
According to LifeExtension, a company out of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with 20 years of research behind them, men should target having an average testosterone level of 805. Most men in their 20s should be averaging anywhere from 500 to 1000+. I'm at 500, which is low for my age - at 52. Mine dropped 100 pts. (to 500) from just last year, and I'm getting it corrected. Testosterone boosters may help you through workouts, but keep in mind: if you take testosterone on a daily basis, it can eventually reduce or shut down your body's natural product of testosterone - that's why it's always advised to do this under a doctor's supervision, including blood testing to monitor for other things. Go to another doctor, and get a second opinion.

Aromatase inhibitors like Aspirin and caffeine (Don't know if caffeine inhibits aromatase but I know it downregulates estrogen and estrogen receptors) may boost testosterone, and anything that raises cholesterol will subsequently boost hormone production so if you increase calories, you might also wanna inhibit aromatase to keep testosterone from converting to estradiol or estrogen.
If you want high test, I suggest making your principle fat saturated and get at least 50g a day, and eat more carbs, definitely more carbs. A post above said drink more milk, I concur whole heartedly.
