What music do you listen to when you lift?

It seems like everyone at the gym these days has headphones on listening to music and I always wonder what they are listening to? I assume the weaklings are listening to Lady Gaga while the big strong dudes are listening to Metallica and other metal bands.

So what do you listen to when you want to get pumped for a max out or big set?

I listen to bands like Metallica, Dream Theater, Haste the Day, Unearth, All That Remains, Darkest Hour, Our Last Night, and other metal/hardcore bands.

My gym plays 80's music most of the time lol. But when I'm hitting it hard I don't hear anything around me.

I don't listen to music. I just lift heavy things.

Rap with hard beats, or a tough voice (DMX, Busta Rhymes, Waka Flocka ex....) Or hard rock. No scremo though.

I try to have a good mix and base my workout on the song that comes up. Plenty to choose from of various types. When I bench/curl, I like to have a nice Rap bassline type beat. If I'm doing dips I like something smooth like a John Mayer. Fortunately, I have a Planet Fitness so when I am on the elliptical, I can listen to ESPN or the History Channel while I workout.

Basically, I try to listen to something intense for intense parts of my workout and smooth beats for things I try to pace myself with.

No metal really. Mainly rap/hip hop.

Also, if I watch a motivating video and the music is decent I'll listen to it and then also remember the video so double-whammy of motivation. Bam!

I listen to some all that remains, eminem, breaking benjamin, system of a down, a little bit of lil wayne, rammstein, mudvayne, and others. mix it up a little between rap and rock, mainly rock though.
