Its shame but the Panthers are probably going to take Cam Cheaton.
I would be more impressed if they took AJ Green or Marcell Darius.
They have a HUGE need at WR and DT.Krispy Kreme Krew Forever.

I am usually pretty good at guessing draft picks, but this year i don't even know where to begin.

Highly doubt they take a WR at #1, especially without a QB to throw him the ball. They won't have a system to even implement with what they have now. Chudzinski is a great OC, IMO, but he needs something to build on, not saying Cam is the right pick, but it gives them a direction. He (Chudz) has great knowledge of the run game and uses TE's very well so I expect them to run the ball and play the nickle and dime game similar to what Vick did in his early years with the Falcons. Stewart/Williams/Goodson are a great trio of backs they have (whether they all remain is another story) and would definitely complement the skills that Newton has.
In other news, Pats looking to move up to #4.. hoping it is to go after Peterson.

Clausen has the mechanics to be a good QB. He just had to deal with a swiss cheese O-Line, no run game, and no one to throw to.
Cam Newton is going to be a bust, he is gonna TRY and run like he did in college and get smoked. At least Tim Tebow is willing to improve himself, Cam is too arrogant to think anything is wrong with how he plays.
Pats with #4 is dangerous.Krispy Kreme Krew Forever.

Mechanics mean nothing when you can't make something on your own. He doesn't bring anything to the table that is a game changer. His decision making, mobility, size, intangibles are all poor at best. The kid has been hyped up since he was a Junior in HS and hasn't lived up to anything. Clausen is the one who is thought to be arrogant, Newton is almost a complete 180 of Clausen as far as skill set and demeanor.
I don't understand the hate from most people towards Cam, if it is because he had received funds from schools it should be no shock. I would say 90+% of D1 athletes receive improper benefits to some degree, he is just in the limelight because of his ability.
Newton adds a huge element to the game. I don't think he will be drafted because a team thinks they will morph him into a passing QB. But, I am sure they think he will be able to win games and let the game come to him rather than always trying to make the hero play.
Carolina has great backs, but it is easy to clog the line when you have no one who can throw the ball, 9 TD passes is atrocious (3 came from the Hback and RB position). They already signed Shockey (who Chudz had at Miami) so I am sure he is looking to do what he did there with Portis, McGahee, and Davenport. Vick never had good receivers down in ATL, but could hand the ball off and be a threat on PA Plays and Spread sets, I am sure they are going to do something to mimic that. I'd be shocked if they didn't draft Newton because they would end up with the #1 again next season.

agreed on Clausen, he is terrible...yet he has this incredible sense of entitlement.
Cam's biggest issue at the next level is going to be his lack of knowledge, both general and football...knowing plays, reading defenses etc. I have huge doubts that he can be a successful QB in the NFL...but he is certainly going to be given a chance to prove me (and many others) wrong.

Agreed on all accounts. He probably had to know only about 40-50 plays in college. Now that is going to be what he will have to learn on a week to week basis and then know when he will have to actually read a defense. He will be in trouble if he can't figure out how to look off safeties and move onto his 2nd and 3rd options down the field. I highly doubt that if he starts right away though that he will average more than 20 or so passes a game.

Gabbert won't make it past Buffalo at 3. Neither would Newton. Carolina has to take Newton simply because it's the GMs last chance at saving the organization. The three other teams in the division have become incredibly competitive, and Carolina needs a QB that can compre to Brees, Ryan and Freeman.
