Just playing devil's advocate, but could the more soluble derivatives have less complaints due to a more informed consumer base for designer creatines?
Hence more religious and informed administration methods on the part of the user
Anecdotally, I respond better to MCC. But I never experienced bloating or sides on anything unless I was foolish enough to try and up dosage to loading levelsControlled Labs Warder

Certainly, although the former explaination makes a bit more physiological sense. Unfortunately, funding for comprehensive creatine studies is simply not there, and thus we are left with speculation and anecdote. Some of the recent creatine studies I've read have definite methodological flaws, or were severely limited by power.

Don't forget these forms are marketed that way. They also tend to use lower creatine doses. Indeed, if we go the anecdotal route it seems like lowering CrM dose (to 2-3 g/d) helps to combat these effects.
I'll get to your earlier post in a minute. Still looking for some data regarding creatinine conversion in the blood. I think for now we can all agree the only way to get a conclusive answer is by a muscle biopsy study. Right?

In terms of creatinine converstion, since it is nonenzymatic, it can occur anywhere from the gut tube, to the enterocyte, liver, blood, kidney, and so on. If you are searching the literature, make sure you check the study methodology, and its ability to differentiate between creatine/creatinine (sensitivity).
In terms of time-to-saturation, a muscle biopsy would be required, yes.Last edited by neuron; 04-23-2011 at 10:41 AM.

Not sure what you mean by this. It would be guanidino(1+) and nitrate(1-). Even though it's not what you would say, an "organic bond" would technically be something like creatine ethyl-ester (lol).
On another note, here's why you don't buy creatine nitrate from anyone other than its patented manufacturer:

04-23-2011, 10:54 AM #72Dosages & price aside, the solubility of monohydrate reflects it’s absorption limit.
Now, from my experience the best place to start researching a subject is by reading the reviews of that subject... And they come up with the same thing; we need muscle biopsy studies! Makes sense though, if we had that data we wouldn't be discussing this subject.

In my opinion, we are having a somewhat [intellectual] discussion reguarding creatine [which trumps any brologic discussion]. Nobody here is claiming monohydrate is a poor choice. We all know monohydrate works, plain & simply.
I see it differently. Intellectual discussions like these encourage an open mind when alternate views are being discussed. My opinions are definitely not set in stone, and I welcome contrasting knowledgeable opinions.~
Wherever progression lacks.... regress can be found in abundance.

absolutely. but you know this just as well as me that this "discussion" is company reps with extreme bias yet real knowledge arguing over minuscule things. Creatine works, it's been proven, the "best" kind doesn't really matter because once saturation is reached it's reached. Why discuss things that have little meaning or significance?
Edit: I guess I just have zero respect for BK coming back all the time to stir **** up. If he really wanted to discuss and keep an open mind like you mentioned, he would have that tone. I'll come back with my thoughts on the thread alone in a bit.I can do amazing things for your body composition. PM for more info.

I think this discussion is relevant given the popularity and existing (still!) misconceptions regarding different forms of creatine. If you don't care, fine, just don't visit this thread.
In b4 creatine graveyard.
No it's just a distraction method from someone who can't stand CrM (and maybe CrPyr) is the only creatine legally available (as stated in a peer-reviewed paper). He's deliberately trying to mislead us about the content of the paper.
Oh heavenly blessed beauty...

alright, i'll bite BK, what would you like to discuss? thus far you've claimed:
1.mono>all
2. all other creatines besides mono/pyruvate are "illegal"
in a nutshell. correct? Besides the illegal part, considering cost/results mono is "best". Although that I believe HCL might saturate a bit quicker but that doesn't really matter.
Sooooooooo..... what other novel information do you have to bring to bb.com?I can do amazing things for your body composition. PM for more info.
