Does weight lifting stunt your growth?

I know, I know. It's a question that is constantly being raised. But wherever I look there are always mixed opinions. Right now I'm 14 and I'm only about 5'5" and about 120-125 lbs and I'd like to know whether lifting weights will affect my growth in anyway.

    Thanks

EDIT: Also is there any specific kind of exercises that will and others that won't.

Given proper form, there´s no way you´ll stunt your growth. Only guys who manage to stunt their growth by going to the gym early are those who squat / deadlift with absolutely atrocious form with more weight than they´re able to handle. Just get on SS, focus on form, eat and rest. Profit.

This. stunted growth tends to be due to injury.

No, but there are some books you can find on the internet that do help for increasing your height, if that is what you're interested in doing.

There are no mixed opinions. Unless you damage your growth plates you will not stunt your growth (and unless you drop a bar or something on just the right spot and crush your shoulder while you are benching this won't happen).

If you do something INSANELY stupid and you use bad form, you could hurt your back which could stunt your growth.
