Android is the operating system, not the phone. There are multiple companies competing to make the best phone possible, rather than one company (apple) screwing over it's users every 6 months with a new phone.

Android is the operating system, not the phone. There are multiple companies competing to make the best phone possible, rather than one company (apple) screwing over it's users every 6 months with a new phone.

Once again, iPhones come out once a year. Secondly, I meant Android as in Android phones as a whole. Multiple companies? HTC comes out with phones every two months, it seems.

My sister has a mytouch 3g. She got it a few months ago. Guess what? She's already outdated.

There were no multitouch phones out at the time, and EVERYONE starting making them after the iPhone to compete. Verizon didn't even want the iPhone because they thought a touchscreen based phone that wasn't really a PDA would flop horribly. The iPhone has changed the modern day phone market. If the iPhone didn't come out, people would be using the sidekick 5 and razr 4.

I never said the iPhone was the best phone. But it certainly ushered in a new era. Next, your going to say that the AppStore wasn't anything great, and that other companies had the same idea. I guess Apple is just faster to the punch, amirite?

Yeah because those other companies developed the technology just for the lulz and no actual future financial benefit right? As the technology progressed to a viable and cheap level, no one would have ever thought to put them in phones because that idea is so abstract and revolutionary that it's impossible to put them together.
