my shoulders are kinda lagging and i wanna do them twice a week but i figure shoulders take a pounding with back and chest. and i train those twice a week....
so my question to you is how many times do you train shoulders a week? and is it ok to train them twice a week?

I work them twice a week at the moment and gonna switch out of it soon i think. Chest and back both effect it. so i also have issues wheni come to do chest and back and shoulders are beat still from everything. I personally am thinking about doing them twice a week every other week to see. and once every other week. My shoulders are falling behind too I am trying things to do as well

ALthough I only do it once a week, I give shoulders pretty much their own day cause I love shoulders and I want big ones. I usually spend a full hour on just shoulders then maybe add some core work or cardio or other small accessory muscle group. Great results, I dare say my shoulders are my best developed group right now.

I train shoulders once a week. Many people train shoulders twice a week and have success doing such. Just be mindful of overtraining and you should be ok. If you do other major upper body parts twice and shoulder only once that could be an explanation of why you feel they are lagging. Shoulders do get some secondary work with chest and back, but they deserve their own unique training sessions. Unless you're one of those genetically blessed individuals who can get away with it. Most of us are not. Train your shoulders the same way you train chest and back, and give it some time. Re-assess in 4-6 months.
