While I will agree it was a very good game, Counter Strike was better (and is the best of all time at the moment).
I actually liked BF2142 ALOT more than good old BF2, I have hopes for BF3 but will probably never play it as I hardly game anymore.
Notable mentions CoD4, and Day of Defeat, oh the half life mod The Specialist.

BF2 and BFBC2 are both great. Used to be awesome at BF2 a few years back... reinstalled it and I'm now sh!t at it... recently bought BC2, as someone else says it is a console port and requires some tweaking, but is very fun
Project Reality is on another level though, amazing stuff (free mod for BF2 which is like an entirely new game)

although I never played competitive 1.5, that's what I started with. 1.6 was fun too, but I don't see why anyone would stay with those games when source came out and it had much better graphics. If you played competitive source you would know it's not just spray and pray... each game requires skill. An open kid would get **** on by top IM.. if a main 1.6 kid came to source they would get **** on. I wouldn't say either is harder, I saw many people come to source thinking they would be pro and just quit several days after getting **** on in scrims, but they continue to think it's easy even though they blow.
You get get good at one or the other.Make Misc Great Again

having played CS and CS:S for what is probably literally years of my, I never thought CS:S was better than CS outside of the graphical improvements. It became so spray and pray, random nade tossing match. Also when I played people played more maps than just dust2 and office 24/7.
That said I play more CS:S than CS now because its more new, thats all there is to it. The game play experience is just not the same for me.
Maybe Im just clinging to what I knew best, it was a huge part of me for so long. Until MMORPGS came along, then I found bbing.
