    how ofton should i max out?

    what the title says. cuz i use to max out everytime i felt like i can do it but now i feel like its pointless and only for show

    Well, in a bench whore and max out way to much, don't take my word for it man, but I think once every two weeks, with a good rest before you go for it.

    Edit: if you don't see a point in max, then don't. But I would do it every month or so. Sorry I didn't read your post fully

    the more experienced you are, the less often you can do it.

    not exact but;
    for a beginner, you can do it every fortnight.
    for an advanced lifter, 4-5 times a year.

    So far I have been checking my max lifts about once a month, but not to show off to other, just so I can see my progress, and what I need to work on more.
