most cuts go for about 12 weeks assuming you have a decent frame to work on (muscle mass), try looking around the workout sectin and the FIND A PLAN button on this site, you should be heavy lifting (4 sets on a 8 -12 rep range) per exercise, how much volume are you doing (exercises per muscle group), most will suggest to see the starting strength program and do compund exercises. are you doing any cardio? whats your BF? have you calculated your maintenance calories?

if you cant answer these questiosn take a look at the nutrition section and the stickies on this forum and there.

cardio is 4 times a week, bf is 24%, 4 exercises per muscle group

Often times the results are subtle, I suggest you take a progress picture every 4 weeks or so. You see yourself daily so its tough to see the small changes.

You're doing fine. If you've never lifted before result will come FAST. More importantly, are you tracking your diet?

Does your routine look something like this?

    Squats 2 x 20
    Overhead press 3 x 10
    Bent over rowing 3 x 10
    Bench press 3 x 10
    Stiff leg deadlifts 3 x 15
    BB curl 3 x 10
    Dips 3 x 10

That's a good beginers routine, done 2-3 times a week on non consecutive days.
