All the different schools of thought out there... some say eat raw eggs, some say eat only egg whites, and others say eat the whole egg but not raw lol...

there again many people look at bacon and think fat and cholesterol...

Heres the deal, bacon has good fats in it (need fat to burn fat methodology) plus good protein...so as long as you don have cholesterol problems then rock some bacon!!

As for the eggs... in pretty much any form they are a great friend to you, great for protein, amino acids and other nutrients. I cant bring myself to eat em raw but i usually do 3-4 eggs either scrambeled or omelette with cheese each morning... then 4 hard boiled just egg whites through out the day... find what you like and go with it!!

no hate but can you name the good fats??

bacon is saturated with umm saturated fat. its also laden with nitrates (known carcinogens).Alota bacon also has fake flavering nowadays (sad) which isnt good for you either. An average strip of bacon is also half fat. Umm yeah...

ha ha ha at how unaware you are.

did you know that there are more nitrates in some natural food that in bacon?

and whats wrong with fat and or saturated fat for that matter?

Now lets see you explain your reasoning with some real evidence not just hearsay.

Bacon is good for you!!!! The same way apples, lettuce, oatmeal, chicken, eggs, and beef are. I think you awareness about nutrition is mainly what is perpetrated by the media. And we all know the media doesn't lie. lmfao

Well i guess if i made a comment i couldn't back up i would back out too, smart decision, I rather hear that than a bunch of unscientific bullsh!t.

Nitrates can be converted to nitrites, which tend to be the substance linked to causing cancer. But there has never really been any exact proof. I found a study from around 2006-07 but couldn't remember who did it.

But further points are your assumptions that "flavoring" is bad. By this definition, flavored tea is bad for you. As is all soda and alcoholic drinks. Pretty much any drink that isn't water would fall into this category.

Also, supposedly charring meat causes cancer. Considering this happens to most of our meat during the cooking process, the only way to avoid it is to just barely cook your meat past the safe point, but most people always go over or under. Chicken tends to get overcooked, beef tends to get undercooked. Seems like the only way to avoid this would be to go vegetarian.

Oh but wait. Did you know certain fertilizers have nitrates in them? So unless you really know where your vegetables are coming from, you run the risk there also.

"The research, published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, set out to see whether frequently eating cured meats increased the risk of COPD and impaired lung function."
But depends...a bacon website will say its better for you then orange juice while a vegan website will say its the devil. meh to each their own. Im out..
most people you've met are also complete idiots who are unaware about there caloric intake. And if you are going to be bashing a certain food I want to see tangible evidence as to why it is bad. And how the heck do you think most diseases are discovered? what are most health claims based on? STUDIES... So if you rather not listen to what the scientific literature is saying at the time ok then be ignorant.

even though the burden of proof is on you who made the claim I'll give you some evidence as to why saturated fat is not bad for you.

will check it thx.(thats great about saturated fat but Im more talking about the nitrates, etc)

and true my bad....this is generally what Im sayn...

"About 23 chemicals have been identified as carcinogens in humans, Nitrites—chemicals added to processed meats such as bacon, sausage, and bologna to prevent spoilage—react with substances in the digestive tract to form carcinogenic chemicals called nitrosamines. Even synthetic dyes added to food for coloring are potential mutagens (substances that cause mutations in the genetic material of cells)."

Then again even vegetables produce their own carcinogens also.A big factor to me*is just that in bacon they use synthetic nitrates, etc.

"About 23 chemicals have been identified as carcinogens in humans, with many more shown to cause cancer in laboratory animals. Tobacco smoke contains several carcinogenic substances and is the major cause of lung cancer. Some drugs used in the treatment of cancer are themselves cancer-causing. In addition, various chemicals used in industrial processes, such as vinyl chloride and certain dyes, are known human carcinogens. Nitrites—chemicals added to processed meats such as bacon, sausage, and bologna to prevent spoilage—react with substances in the digestive tract to form carcinogenic chemicals called nitrosamines. Even synthetic dyes added to food for coloring are potential mutagens (substances that cause mutations in the genetic material of cells)."
